    I happened upon them by accident the other week. I think they have serious potential if allowed to do their own thing, creatively-speaking. I hope the marketing people don't water them down. They also have the advantage that they can speak and sing in English as well. They're on the cusp of Punk and Metal, but not quite Metal enough yet to challenge in the Japanese market. But like my favourite Asian bands, their drummer and bassist are a tight unit, laying down a solid rhythm for the others to do their business.
    I'm eager for more.

    As you prefer rock/metal and trying to dive into K-POP I would recommend you to start with group Dreamcatcher.
    They are a Kpop girl group with a little bit of rock sound so might be a good bridge for peoples who usually listen a rock/metal but want to discover something different.
    Dreamcatcher - Chase Me OR Dreamcatcher - Good Night are their first songs and I think they're pretty good for beginners.

      Come on friend....Aldious, Mary's Blood, Bridear, Nemophilia, Unlucky Morphieus, Scandal, Elfriede, Trident, Lovebites(best Japanese Powermetal band around right now and one of the best in the world) and many others are just as amazing and talented as Bandmaid. I love Bandmaid and have their discography, but there are so many great jrock bands that Bandmaid fans can't just keep saying nothing compares. This is something new as most Korean girls inspire to be KPOP stars, this is a rarity an all girl Krock band and they are extremely good and very talented. Expand your musical vision and then compare, you may be surprised what is out there and not keep saying "how amazing and superior" Bandmaid is. Again, I am not dumping on Bandmaid(I actually love them) just trying to point out the amount of insane talent there is in the jrock rock/metal scene.

    Rather then Band Maid, this gives me more Paramore vibes or among Japanese bands, more Scandal vibes.
    Btw this band is pretty much the seed of hope for the entirety of rock/metal to have a place in the mainstream music industry of Korea. Anything beyond pop rock pretty much doesn’t exist or get played anywhere else other than some niche tiny corners. From what I hear, there used to be some in the 80s but it all died away with Kpop taking over around the 2000s.
    Many decently big rock bands can hardly be called even pop rock now coz they had to tone down their sound just to survive. Its a rather gloomy situation for rock there.
    So in regards to these ladies I just hope they can stay as rock bands, and looks and production wise be good enough to compete with pop groups.
    They pretty much don’t have a choice as no matter how good their rock music is, it still won’t be enough unless they blow up outside.
    Hopefully they’ll have the pioneer’s luck and surprise factor as the representative all female Korean rock band.
    If they can succeed as a proper rock band then it’d definitely open the way for many more to get signed as far as the labels go.

      When I first heard Rolling Quartz I instantly thought of Paramore.

    • @Dtagcity
      @Dtagcity 3 года назад

      @MeRoX Official I often categorise bands into groups for my playlists based more on their vibes/sound rather than genres. The reason I said Paramore is coz Rolling Quartz seems like a vocal focussed band too with a simpler sound. Band maid on the other hand has always been an instrumental first, with the vocals often taking a supporting role.
      It probably has to do with their songs always written first as an instrumental by Kanami and the lyrics are added later by Miku to fit the instrumental.

    • @davidfrischknecht8261

    This is a good example of what I have been trying to teach to the teenagers that I work with. Everyone makes mistakes, and everyone need to make mistakes to learn more and from those mistakes we make are the best moments of success born from. Be it with a school work that didn't go perfectly or mixing up some information. So I am very happy that you, for time and time again show that when you make a mistake with some info, you don't back down but see to learn from them and find us awesome bands like this to listen. Thanks again, OSN, amazing reaction video to an amazing new band for me. For sure going into my rock lists!
