i was gonna buy a tamiya 801 nitro for under 200 on sale when they had them but i already had a Oddonel z501 buggy All the TRF cars are always pieces of art
Both very nice Glenn, I actually thought when u mentioned he'd sent u the battery that it was for u to have a little go of it,but never mind lol, I'm just wundering, how much did have the urge to clean that Team Associated up 😂😂. Great video as always mate 😃👊👍
Great video! I have 1/8th and 1/5 rigs that I run. I will send you gear to borrow if you want to run it. That way you aren’t dropping hundreds to run it once or twice. Or decide if you like it enough the drop the cash yourself.
Great video Glenn 👍, I love building 1/10 stuff but I don't run them (all shelf queens). However I do run an Arrma Typhon, a great (1/8 th) buggy, good looking, can take a beating and can be upgraded up to the eyeballs, even from the brushed V3 mega version, without a doubt the best value for money 1/8 th buggy available (in my humble opinion).
Great vid Glenn and Dennis, Ken! This 1:8 world is Alien to me but seen enough Talbot to know how crazy they are! But what l can't tell is the feel of them like you said Glenn the weight and build etc! That battery could start my wife's car! damn it! Awesome beast dirt and all what a racing monster! Regarding yours Glenn keep it looking pretty buddy no point running it in my view a lot of money just to run it once! If you were to start racing it or running it generally for fun yeah of course! But as it stands its a lovely looking and fascinating 1:8 display piece! and definitely a one off in your impressive massive collection! Great stuff buddy. Cheers James.
Really cool that you did a great video on 1/8th scale buggys. You should ask your friends if you could do a running video on a track. You would love it.
You really gotta go out and put an 8th scale buggy through the paces some time... it's amazing what the things can do and how much they can take and keep going...
G'day Glenn gee the team associated nice but Tamiya is way nicer. I haven't driven a an 801 yet but I imagine it's a Associated killer. Lol TRF-EY. After the video I'm going to grab a 6s battery clean up my RC8e and my SC8e and bash e'm radio controlled on steroids. Awesome video Glenn 👍👍
You should take a look at the Arrma outcast 8s. They are huge and weigh a ton. I was blown away when I got mine. If you anywhere near Leicester I’d be happy for you to blast it around and bash it
You are welcome Glenn….they are a fiddle to fit but worth it. The stock ones (die cast I think) had a tendency of splitting/cracking so the hop up came out as a fix. The original Tamiya hop up had cut outs in the ring as well to reduce weight.
Damn, those 1/8th scale buggies are chunky beasts😂 They are pretty cool though, part of me would love to get one but money is sooooo tight right now. My eldest nephew has a RTR one of these things, and on 4S it's ballistic! I had a go of it, holy crap it don't half shift! Awesome video as always mate. And I'd love to see the TRF801X get a run out, even if it's pretty gentle...
Buy a cheap runner 1/8 scale buggy, find a spot and fly that thing. I bought an 808 xray, little old, but came with new lcd screen radio, tekin 1900kv combo and super nice servo, for under 300. Its a beast on 5s. Only needed the battery.
Glenn thinking a 1:8 scale Esc is insanely big is kinda funny. Would love to see his reaction when looking at a max5 or even the recent max4 Esc from hobbywing 😅 Now those are huge...
The centre diff is in the middle, ie the middle cog between the two drive shafts on your 1/8 tamiya buggy . I have four 1/8 scale brushless electric RC rally cars, namely two HPI WR8 FLUX 3 SUBARU brushless rally cars, and two HoBao HYPER GT brushless rally cars. Both models have a thick 3mm metal chassis, centre diffs, massive oil shocks, overbuilt metal drive components, overbuilt thick metal shock tower braces, and overbuilt swing arms etc etc . You are talking 3.5 kilos each for these 1/8 scale RC cars without battery fitted .
I better not get one, 1/10 only just fit on my shelf, misses would go mad if i started fitting bigger shelves for a 1/8 😂 would be great to see your trf running if you ever do 👍
Come visit America Glenn and I’ll let you have a toddle around on any one of the cars in my collection. Vintage Tamiya all the way to super upgraded Xmaxx. There’s not one on the shelves you wouldn’t be welcome to.
I would run It mate thats all I can say, but Is up to you, I really like It It looks amazing, also the team associated Its just not brand new, and I like It, I would say Its ugly Its just weird 🤣😅
Glenn I have 2 different 1/8 makes very similar in look 1 is thunder tiger eb4 s3 maybe 15 years old and I have a Hobao hyper vs nitro they go like stink 1/8 make 1/10 look and drive like toys 😂😂😂
Nice one, that was interesting. 👍🏻
Glad you liked it 😎👊🏻
I'm a big fan of the 8th scale cars and trucks. I had no idea that Tamiya made an 8th scale buggy.. that thing is absolutely gorgeous!
Great stuff, thanks for sharing buddy
Thanks 😊
Get that TRF RUNNING!!!!!!!!!
Team Associated is a beast, but as for looks, TRF801 All Day! Just my humble opinion, Cheers!
Yeah totally agree 😇👊🏻
i was gonna buy a tamiya 801 nitro for under 200 on sale when they had them but i already had a Oddonel z501 buggy All the TRF cars are always pieces of art
Those are two very cool cars. I have an old 8th scale buggy and power is amazing. If you would like to run one, find a used one and give it a run.
Both very nice Glenn, I actually thought when u mentioned he'd sent u the battery that it was for u to have a little go of it,but never mind lol, I'm just wundering, how much did have the urge to clean that Team Associated up 😂😂. Great video as always mate 😃👊👍
Lol 😂 I was very tempted to clean it 🤣👊🏻
I had an ofna 1/8 nitro rtr buggy. The size and power!! Lots of fun. Your TRF is a beauty!
Fantastic thanks for watching 😎👊🏻
Beautiful video today🥰! You will get to run my b4e this summer.....😜 And yes, yours has a center diff too👍 I wonder if I know Dennis?🤔
I’m sure you will have been at events together 😅
Yep, I’m buying a 1/8 buggy now 😮
Great video!
I have 1/8th and 1/5 rigs that I run. I will send you gear to borrow if you want to run it. That way you aren’t dropping hundreds to run it once or twice. Or decide if you like it enough the drop the cash yourself.
Oh that’s very tempting my friend 😅👊🏻
But then I look at it and it’s mint 🤔🤷🏼♂️
I have 4 more 801x’s Glenn’s - keep that one mint and run one of mine-😅
Great video Glenn 👍, I love building 1/10 stuff but I don't run them (all shelf queens). The TRF that you own is great I would be itching to race it . Your mates car is also totally awesome
Thanks buddy 😎👊🏻
Beautiful 801 😍👍
Thank you 😊
Hi Glenn now you're taking spot on mate
Yeah these 1/8 rigs are pretty special 😅
Great vid Glenn and Dennis, Ken! This 1:8 world is Alien to me but seen enough Talbot to know how crazy they are! But what l can't tell is the feel of them like you said Glenn the weight and build etc! That battery could start my wife's car! damn it!

Cheers James.
Could start your wife’s car, love it 🤣🤣👊🏻
Have you seen the Hotbodies VE8 I think they are the best looking buggy ever created and drive really well love to see one on your channel mate
Really cool that you did a great video on 1/8th scale buggys. You should ask your friends if you could do a running video on a track. You would love it.

HoBao 1/8 brushless electric RC rally or road or buggies, and HPI do the WR8 FLUX 3 brushless electric rally car .
You should take a look at the Arrma outcast 8s. They are huge and weigh a ton. I was blown away when I got mine. If you anywhere near Leicester I’d be happy for you to blast it around and bash it
Yeah I’ve seen one of those things, awesome 😎
love all your videos, just want to say that new mic makes a huge difference, its great :)
Fantastic thanks for letting me know 😇👊🏻
You are welcome Glenn….they are a fiddle to fit but worth it. The stock ones (die cast I think) had a tendency of splitting/cracking so the hop up came out as a fix. The original Tamiya hop up had cut outs in the ring as well to reduce weight.
Oh fantastic information now it makes sense to me 😇👊🏻
Damn, those 1/8th scale buggies are chunky beasts😂 They are pretty cool though, part of me would love to get one but money is sooooo tight right now. Yeah there definitely are Beasts Barry 😅💪🏻💪🏻
I don't have any 1/8 Rc's but gotta say they look both mighty and menacing 😁👍
Yeah you wouldn’t want to be hit by one that’s for sure lol 😅
@@RCLegends2022I forgot say I'd leave the TRF 801 as a shelf queen, it looks to sweet to risk a scratch 😁👍👍
Hi Glenn hope you are ok mate. Missing the videos this weekend. Hope you're back posting soon. All the best mate

Nice! :)
You gotta stick a max 6 combo in that bad boy😂😂😂
Haha hopefully one day 😅👊🏻
I have pretty much the same car with 8s power just for bashing, its a handful but man it's loads of fun!!
That Associated buggy is really cool, but Tamiya one is just beautiful. I'd run the Associated though, parts support is important.
Yeah I absolutely love the 801 😇👊🏻
@@RCLegends2022 it would be a weapon tho innit 👍
Glenn thinking a 1:8 scale Esc is insanely big is kinda funny. Would love to see his reaction when looking at a max5 or even the recent max4 Esc from hobbywing 😅
Now those are huge...
I'm ready for the weather to get better so I can play with my Inferno
Oh yeah bring on the summer 😅
Glenn what is the Marlboro sponsored touring car to your right 2nd up from bottom
It’s the Tamiya CLK GTR Merc 😅
You should try lifting my monster wheel truggy with the new 1717 motor and 6s battery with one arm=)
The centre diff is in the middle, ie the middle cog between the two drive shafts on your 1/8 tamiya buggy . Glenn you need to run one to understand what makes them different
I know I really do need to run mine 🙈
Run it😊
Thanks for watching 😎👊🏻
You need to run your 1/8th Tamiya, no point in doing the electric conversion if it's just going to sit on a shelf. 😊
I think a lot depends on how much cash you have tied up in these cars 🤷🏼♂️
Never been a fan of the cab forward block design of the new buggies now. The Tamiya is so much better looking.
I better not get one, 1/10 only just fit on my shelf, misses would go mad if i started fitting bigger shelves for a 1/8 😂 would be great to see your trf running if you ever do 👍
Haha yeah better stay on the good side of the better half 😅👊🏻
In 2008 I had ordered a rc8t factory team and made it electric. Nobody was so fast as me.
Come visit America Glenn and I’ll let you have a toddle around on any one of the cars in my collection. Vintage Tamiya all the way to super upgraded Xmaxx. There’s not one on the shelves you wouldn’t be welcome to.
Oh that’s very kind of you my friend 😇👊🏻
I would run It mate thats all I can say, but Is up to you, I really like It It looks amazing, also the team associated Its just not brand new, and I like It, I would say Its ugly Its just weird 🤣😅
You can't scratch that TRF, I'd cry if you did
Sexy TRF! What wheels do you have on the 801x? Offset? Cheers.
I am only kidding 😂😂😂
1/8th scale are tanks and crash at 100kph with ease and never break
Thanks for watching Mark 😎👊🏻
Glenn I have 2 different 1/8 makes very similar in look 1 is thunder tiger eb4 s3 maybe 15 years old and I have a Hobao hyper vs nitro they go like stink 1/8 make 1/10 look and drive like toys 😂😂😂
Love it 🤩👊🏻
Drive it in anger.
It should be yours.😂
He only uses a 50c battery for racing?!?! Mine run a minimum 0f 130c
What body is this???
He should change the connectors Deans are not suitable for 8th Scale Cars
