    So "two dollars" is 两块钱 (and not 二块钱). What about "twelve dollars" ? I think that would be 十二块钱 (and not 十两块钱). Similarly for 二十二块钱, 三十二块钱, etc. So 两 is only used for 2 (and not for 12, 22, 32, etc.). 是不是?

      两is usually not used if not never with other numbers. and when you want to say two only, 两is usually used instead of 2 or 二。

    • @mountaintag
      @mountaintag 4 года назад

      So, 两 is used when talking about two of something, such as "two dollars" (两块钱). But I don't think that 两 is used when 第 is used. So "the second dollar" should be 第二块钱. Also, I don't think that 两 is used in expressions where 第 has been omitted. I know three expressions like that: 二等 ("second class"), 二楼 ("second floor"), and 二手 ("second hand"). I don't know if there are any more expressions like this, where 二 is used instead of 两.

    • @MrLuhuazhao
      @MrLuhuazhao 4 года назад +1

      mountaintag 二 is used when we talk about order eg 第二,第五。二楼 is essentially short for 第二层楼(the second floor).

    • @EverydayChinese
      @EverydayChinese  Год назад

      如果没有货币单位的话,100.5 = 一百点五;100.05就读作一百点零五。
      如果是货币单位的话,点代表不同单位进制,点之前是元,点之后分别是角、分。
      所以我们通常读作:
      100.50元 = 一百元五角
      100.05元 = 一百元五分
