Hi, I am getting one of these tomorrow and want to connect my Logitech Z-2300 speakers with a 2.5mm plug to the phones jack. Is this a 3.5mm? and what do you think the best adaptor is to use? Any help would be very much appreciated.
The Kenwood KX - 4520 is a great Cassette recorder and player. On the brink of being classified an HI-End recorder but not sufficiently good to become one. Though this medium range Kenwood is a much better recorder and player than the average cassette recorder. Of course it is no competitor for the best Pioneer or Teac or even the best Telefunken and the likes. Hiss is not absent from recordings and the filters aren't accurate enough and if you use them at the maximum you'll stop hiss but the sound becomes slightly muffled which is very unpleasant. On the other hand if you are producing cassettes for the car stereo its great and more than good enough for the job.
very good device, recently purchased this. went back to the tapes after 10 years.

The recording level used is too high for normal tape...that level must be used for metal tapes!
How do you record from an outside source?
You go outside and you start recording... Mic+Mic amp+power source+cables.
can anyone privide me with the service manual for this deck? Nowhere available online...
Very well done......Do you know anyone who can work on these?....Mine will not pick up the tape when you hit play.....Thanks
You might need to replace the belts. That is a job you can do yourself.
rec level means volume
