Original 1937 Gibson RB3 Flathead 5 String... The "Boer Hog"

- Ok... The Boer Hog is a VERY special banjo. It is one of the very last RB3's shipped to South Africa in the batch built in June of 1937. In August they converted to making RB - 75's.
This banjo is the real deal, original 5 string neck, original hardware & the original flathead tonering... One interesting fact about banjo is that at one point the resonator & neck were painted with white house paint. Frank Neat refinished & re-fretted it, otherwise it's a damn time capsule of perfection.
All the best and keep rollin,
RC

I once owned a 1940 Gibson tb18 converted. It was like playing a harp. This banjo is like that. Musical but with decay. Man I wish I could have kept that banjo!😢
Wow! That RB has got some serious power!
A two and a half minute commercial to watch a minute and a half video! Although the sound of that banjo is worth the wait. I question the lopsided boredom vs goodie in the video.
dang what a banjo right there
