    James - Very nice project. I can see why you enjoyed it so much. I can relate to what you did. First of all I have reconnected with several friends via internet. Great memories! Also, my wife made shadow boxes. One for my mother, father, sister and another for her father. It is made with memorabilia that belonged to each person. I'm sure that Mike and his family will enjoy the shadow box for many years to come.

    Not sure why you wouldn't have used a flush trim bit instead of all the belt sanding at 9:35

    What a great way to reconnect to an old friend. Question, why the belt sander to flush the frame instead of a router trim bit?

    • @KingsFineWoodworking
      @KingsFineWoodworking  7 лет назад

      Hi. Thank you! It was great. And, no reason really, I use both methods. In this case I already had the sander out from sanding the dovetails. Also, I have had a lot of practice with the belt sander. If you are new to the belt sander and not sure if you can keep it flat and flush a flush trim bit would be smarter and easier.

    Great project. Any particular reason, other than preference, that you don't cut the rabbits on the tables before assembly ? Thanks

    • @KingsFineWoodworking
      @KingsFineWoodworking  7 лет назад

      Hi Deb. Thanks. You can cut the rabbet on the table saw prior to the assembly, but you'll have to stop before it reaches the end of the board, otherwise there will be a gap on the side that will show through. But it is perfectly do-able. Thanks for watching and commenting!
      ~James

    • @diggerdeb
      @diggerdeb 7 лет назад

      Thanks for the reply. I didn't think about the fact that it didn't go to the end. In that case, I guess the router would work best. In fact I just watched the dovetail drawer video, and you did use the tablesaw for those rabbets. Pleasure to watch you James. You are a great teacher.

    Great project. Simple to construct but very nice looking. Great gift for Mikes mother. I have a pet peeve to vent though. Why do folks say "pre drill"? Pre means "before". So in effect they are saying "before drill". The correct term to "drill a pilot hole".

    Is the spraying indoor not a problem for your tools/projects, (as well as the fumes)?
    And, I am always curious, do you find that filming those projects actually slow you down?

    • @KingsFineWoodworking
      @KingsFineWoodworking  7 лет назад

      Hi! Thank you. When we spray indoors we have two giant doors open and fans blowing air through so nothing really settles on any tools. The fumes, however, are very toxic and we must wear respirators. As for the filming, it makes the projects go about 4 times slower. Thanks for watching.
