If I were to hear this while viewing an orchestra, I'd be in the crowd crying. This version of the song just hits you, and went perfectly for Kikyou's death. We all might have had mixed feelings about her, but that was a very impactful moment of the show. This could definitely do with a longer version :)
"Kikyo, you were the first woman I ever cared about, and yet... I couldn't do anything for you..." "This is the first time I've ever seen you cry, Inuyasha." "Kikyo, I couldn't... I COULDN'T SAVE YOU!!!" "You came for me. That was enough." "Kikyo..." Inuyasha may have sired a Best Girl with Kagome, but he had something truly unique with Kikyo.
Seeing this anime as a middle schooler, I only paid attention to the funny stuff, cool fighting scenes, and hated Kikyo thinking she was two-faced. Seeing this anime to its end as an adult, I now understand and appreciate the story and characters so much. I can see Kikyo's side now and feel sorry for misjuding her as a kid. She suffered so much and came back to life to relive a tragic truth: She and Inuyasha will not be together in this life, but their love endures, and she found peace knowing that. She passed away seeing that Inuyasha's love for Kagome, as well as his friends, made him better and said goodbye to all of them in a warm spiritual embrace. All this time, Kikyo suffered in silence and yet remained kind to others. After death, she decided to save a life rather than end one. What a great woman. Great character.
I feel like Kikyo 's reincarnation represents her soul, but totally free as a living being and woman. Kagome is an infant Kikyo, a version of Kikyo 's soul completely purified by the joy of existence and the connection with the universe that Kikyo truly never felt at all.
I honestly don't understand why people hate Kikyo sooo much. She is LITERALLY the best character in the show by LEAPS AND BOUNDS AND MILES. Call me a fanboy sure but listen to this: She fell in love like any other. A pure and beautiful thing, only to be terribly deceived and killed by her lover. With her dying breath she sealed him away feeling reassured that she stopped the mess, only to be forcefully resurrected and find him still roaming around. Her hatred for Inuyasha is easily justifiable. Later finding out Naraku was the one behind everything, she makes it her sole mission to eradicate Naraku. With Inuyasha around however, she slowly finds herself with feelings for him again but knows she will never be able to be with the one she loved soo long ago because there is someone else with him now. Towards her death, she chose to literally rather attempt at killing Naraku before putting her own safety into consideration! SHE COULD HAVE SAVED HERSELF but NO she wanted to defeat him THAT badly for her own and every one else's sake. Not only all that but on several occasions went out of her way to help others. But the worst part about it all is this: She wanted NOTHING MORE than to just be a normal person. All she ever wanted was to be "Normal" and that's just the saddest and most heart breaking part of her character. That not until death could she finally feel like a "normal" person. She wasn't a normal person being the guardian of the sacred jewel. While other ladies were worrying about looks and men and all the womanly stuff, she had a job to do. Only to eventually die and be resurrected. Not until her actual / final death did she finally feel like a normal woman, and that's what makes it so sad. No other character in the entire show is as developed as Kikyo. Don't get me wrong, I do love a lot of the others, but Kikyo is easily the most developed with the most back story and character development.
Farhan Saber I will completely agree. The first time when I started watching this show from the first season all the way to the final act. I fell for Kikyo from that horrible betrayal all the way to her death and I just love her backstory on how much of a caring woman she is and was. When she died, I cried like a little child LOL
All she wanted was to be a normal woman with the man she loves. To live a beautiful and normal life. Poor Kikyo receiving all hate. Kikyo died, I cried.
But even when she found out it was Naraku she still wanted to kill Inuyasha even knowing it wasnt him, if it wasnt for that confusing part of her character I would agree. However I did grow to like her later in the series.
*-* muchas gracias por subirla , gracias a eso me saque buena nota necesitaba la cancion , bueno el tema :D descargar desde aqui *-* enserio gracias y esta muy linda :D
1:20 gives me a goosebumps. I'm rooting for Kagome ever since but looking back to Kikyo's tragic life is so heart breaking. She and Inuyasha were really not meant to be together. 😭
Kikyo was a beautifully tragic soul, was she my favorite? Not at all but I did love her character and and understood her on a level which made me so happy she finally found true peace. She was Inuyasha's first love but I don't agree she was his true love, it was more of a crush or blossoming love on each other. But what made their love look so passionate is because of the tragedy that was caused by Naraku and his ambition for the jewel and Inuyasha's guilt for Kikyo being killed. I feel that Inuyasha was destined for Kagome and she is his TRUE love, I love both the characters of Kagome and Kikyo and yes they share the same soul but they was two very different people with their own life and personalities and feelings that made them both two vastly unique individuals to each other.
simplemente amo este tema ^_^ pero me recuerda a la muerte de la kikyo y me pongo a llorar, la historia de kikyo me pone triste ya que no pudo estar con inuyasha pero cuando murio me gusto que su alma haya sido salvada T-T
This song gets you right in the heart

I glad they brought this original soundtrack back for that reason, emotional/devastating 😭
"Kikyo, you were the first woman I ever cared about, and yet... I couldn't do anything for you..."

1:20 Kikyo's soul departs from her body. 😭😭😭😭
0:26 and 1:02 and 1:20 are like punching me in the heart..just can't deal with this - i never liked kikyo too much but she still mattered a lot
In 1:20 it really hurt when her spirit bids farewell to inuyasha friends and engulf kagome in warm feeling
This is my favourite piece in the soundtrack!
They should do an extended version of this, respecting the song's temperament and tempo
Love it
It touched my heart

Final Act Episode 8: "Among the Twinkling Stars". If you know, you already know.
