You can plant everything like fruits and vegetables.. but one thing you won't get full vitamins & proteins from the fruits & vegetables you planted in hydroponics.. compare to sand plantation.. hydroponic is an option to grow up the plants. In general, soil contains 40-45% inorganic matter, 5% organic matter, 25% water, and 25% air. Without soil there is no healthy foods

What you said is absolute logic if the hydroponic farming is at large scale, but then there places where the land aint fertile enough for certain plants such as green spinach etc, for those kind of environment, hydroponic is the only option. if you have a very large farming land, then the traditional farming is better, but if you have only a smaller area, then hydroponic is the option, hydroponic was introduced in the 18th century mainly for supply of foods for wars and battle since the battalions won't stay at one place and they prefer to grow in a small given place to provide food for their team. Just shared my small knowledge.

Please do remember hydroponics is not 100% organic.. They add some nutrition to it and its chemical based..
closed hydrophonic environment is more suitable for leafy vegetables because fruit vegetables such as tomatoes, egg plants, chillies need insect pollination....this method is more suitable where land and water is limited.
Not necessarily. For example 🍅 can be pollinated by shaking the plants! Also why do u think this method is only for places with less water. If there is more water in a place why must we even waste it? As for having less land, this method can be done vertically

I can't believe that ur an eng graduate ,super bro u have collected many info about this tech and delivered it like an precision farming spclist ,it is very useful technology where there is no land for agriculture.. like Arab countries,..and developed cities.though it is very good,also having some demerits too.. like this may results in more usage of more polythene,plastic materials,highest cost efficiency,using more chemical nutrients etc..
