Anyone who has played, knows Duran meant that. Midfield won that game, getting Tonali into the 6 has been amazing and allows bruno to press high up the pitch and brings that intensity back again.
@@garethlaidler539yes and I’m a die hard Newcastle fan and I’ve seen shearer leave a foot in a few times difference is now there’s cameras all over Duran was guilty imo.
@@johnwatson7120 I’m a Newcastle fan as well but we have to be honest he was going over on his ankle and was trying to save himself. Shearer leaving a foot in has nothing to do with it it’s what he said on MOD.
We have players coming back from injury, Tripps played today, Miley and Targett off the bench and Botman and Krafth a couple of games away from returning, we look to be as strong as we have been for over a year.
Agree, I think he's tried to leave a mark on schar and got caught out. Only the lad himself knows the truth tho. Don't know much about him but commentators said he's wild 5 mins before.
Genuinely think if Villa had kept 11 on the pitch, it probably would have been worse for them. We play better against teams that come out. The Duran red card was certain for me at the time, I never noticed his left foot going over which makes sense why his right foot instinctively comes over quick as a reaction, but there is an angle that shows Durans face is so unbothered which tells me he knew he wanted to try and leave one on Schar making it look accidental. He is a volatile young lad. At the end of the day, the ref watches Duran stamps his right foot and drag it cross Schar. It was 50/50 and therefore VAR doesn't want to intervene. We all, every fan in the league across world football were complaining about VAR getting involved about decisions that weren't clear and they spent 5 minutes faffing on. It wasn't clear, ref gave the red on what he saw and you can't clearly say Duran didn't mean it because the lad is volatile and was already pissed off when he wasn't allowed to take the freekick.
Cheers Keith, hope you had a fab Xmas. Totally agree we are clicking at the right time, i think Tonali has improved and provided calmness to us, he has elevated the whole team, massively helped by Dubravkas much better distribution. Great seeing silky passing and not constantly losing the ball, we look capable of killing games off. Bruno is thriving too.
All the best Keith. The fans who were shouting for Eddie out are embarrassing. My first match at SJP was fifty years ago and I've seen some shite in my time , some people don't realise how good we have it now.
@@rrstows3522His point is still a valid one though. People seemed to forget all the good Howe's done, and began shouting for his head. Thats as bad as those fans who called for sir Bobby's head back in the day.
Another good report Keith, on balance probably agree with you on the sending off. I went over on my left ankle playing football and did the same thing, veered to the left and lost control and balance. Ended up with bruised ankle, not so sure I could have kicked the water bottle like he did! Love the droning background soynd. Close your eyes and listen and you can picture you giving the report over the Channel in the back of a Lancaster!
Schar was on the ground and at that point he had time to go another direction and avoid contact. A blind man on a galloping horse could see he chose to dontge shitty thing.
Just seen the Duran incident slowed down on MOTD and he was unlucky to be sent off for sure but as you said I doubt it would of changed the outcome. Another great performance from Newcastle with all the team contributing to that. Merry Xmas to you and the family and A happy New Year.
1- If Murphy can prioritise hitting the target with shots & offloading the ball before he loses it he'll be a very good RW option for us, regardless of signings, to supply Isak & occasionally score. 2-Duran was rightfully sent off. His top half was leaning forward at point of initial contact and he would have naturally fell forward after he first trod on Schar, but he instead swung his other leg through to change his motion, so he could hit Schar with his other foot. 3- Bruno's goal didn't go directly in off his arm, so should not have been disallowed, as per the new rule. It went in off the Villa player, so should have been a goal. 4- I think our slump was due to Isak and the team losing confidence that they could score, and with no Wilson to change it up, the whole team lost belief. With Wilson's situation, we're still risking that happening again. We absolutely need to prioritise a genuine goalscorer in the transfer window to mitigate this risk.
He’s looking down as he plants his feet. It’s easy to avoid him, it’s just a naive player trying to leave a bit on Schar in an attempt to intimidate him… clown move.
Sending off , was there any need for his foot to finish up on Schar or to Schar’s side 50/50. But the incident where JL got a yellow one has to question , when will players who feign facial contact get done we saw it with Schars no contact head butt awhile back.
His foot ended up there because of gravity, he can't fly. Duran got a knock to his foot on the ground, clearly not intentional when he landed on him with the other.
Agree Keith - i thought it was a mix between his momentum and slipping. One of them subjective decisions because people would argue he could have moved his right leg. Cracking win either way
@@yogihightowertbf it’s been since his injuries, maybe he’s lost a bit of confidence because he fears another one. One thing for sure, his decision making is way below the others

With us back in the hunt for Europe, the price tag for Isak, Bruno, Tonali, and Gordon just increased by 30%. I don't see us selling any of the big names in January.
The thing with the studs in the back is, his foot could have quite easily came down on his calf or foot and it would have looked 'accidental' as he'd have nowhere else to put it but he clearly had other options that the top of his back
Thanks Keith, your comment more genuine than that of Craig Hope , he should call himself Craig the Big Ben , your analysis is far clear and better, Tonali at No 6 , Villa players were dirty playing from Mgin trying to intimidate Gordon , Rodger’s trying to send Joe linton off and Duran he play like they do in Central America rough as F**k
