[Overview of Kamikochi]
Kamikochi is a scenic spot upstream of the Azusa River in the southern part of the Hida Mountains in western Nagano Prefecture. It is also part of the Central Mountain National Park and is designated as a national cultural property. Altitude about 1,500m. The whole area belongs to Matsumoto City. There is a hot spring, and it is also a mountain climbing base for the Hotaka mountain range and Yarigatake.
