Joined in season 2, times were simpler, people played for fun. The game wasent competitive at all, you could join a squad game then join another squad and get the same people. You could walk up to any enemy and emote and it would be wholesome fun. To me the game is long dead and past its glory days.

Same, I enjoyed he game for a little while, but as they got more and more complicated and so many different things to try and manage it just got less and less appealing and fun, it felt too bogged down with so many things, then there’s the fact it’s hard to get games where someone doesn’t build an entire city to fight one person, I personally like playing how the game mode was originally intended, build forts and shoot people, it’s kinda sad what it’s turned into, the lore is ok i gess, but yeah, used to be a great game but isn’t really as good anymore imo

I feel bad for all the people who didn't get to experience the build-up from season 1 to chapter2. Things were so much better back then. Back when they still had entire trailers just for a new weapon. When the skins were still creative. When the players were 80% defaults. Still have a ton of amazing memories. it's genuinely a good game
I started playing on the last day of season one.
A shooter game where you could actually defend yourself and fight back was brilliant. Most shooter games you would be dead before you even find where you were shot. Being able to build around and save yourself and your team was at the time one of the best concepts I’ve seen.
But what was one of the best things about this game is that it was free. I probably would have never touched the game if it meant I might not enjoy and would be wasting my time.
The game was fun, There wasn’t any sweaty tryhards at the time, There weren’t any major glitches you could abuse, And you could actually use meme strategies and still win sometimes. (rocket ride, skybase, etc.)
Season 1-6 I would play atleast 2-7 hours a day. That’s how addicting this game was for me.
Then season 7 hit, I think fortnite started running out of ideas.
When they added the planes, I started playing the game less and less and I was probably playing like only 2 times a week now. When they started removing the good landing spots they were taking it too far. Season 8 I actually enjoyed until they destroyed tilted and retail row one of the 2 best landing spots. Season 9 was kinda of disappointing and Season 10 was the worst of all. It made me stop playing completely.
Removing the pump shotgun, remaking tilted and retail into a worse spots, (also remaking other spots into more shitty versions) removing turbo building and adding the fucking mechs. It took fortnite a entire month of people shouting at fortnite to finally nerf the mechs.
And at the time, everybody knew how to play by then so 80% of the lobby were probably tryhards.
And it wasn’t as fun as the game used to be. Finding newbies/default skins was like the rarity of Kendrick Lamar dropping a album.
Oh but it somehow gets worse. Chapter 2 map remakes were kinda disappointing, they started adding bots (why) and there were a lot of unbalanced and unnecessary things added.
Who remembers the adrenaline rush you would get when you or your team were in the top 10? And just getting that Victory Royale always felt amazing. I miss the old days with friends. 🥲

I rarely ever play Fortnite, maybe every once in a while. Not because it’s still fun, but mainly for nostalgia. I miss playing squads with my friends after school. Sadly we lost touch after we graduated. I don’t know if they remember me, but I still have their names as friends in Fortnite.

I remember all these trailers like it was yesterday. Season one player btw and this brings back memories and brings tears to my eyes. I miss the days where I would land dusty depot/divot it was my favorite place to land. After the new map came it just died off for me. Did find a good place to land but it's not the same. The past few seasons have been decent but season 16-now was just a downfall. The game has gotten very confusing and toxic and competitive. I miss the days of screwing around having some fun on a skybase and getting some wins when there was no one really that sweaty. Everyone was about the same skill level and everyone has fun. It's not fun anymore it's just very rage inducing. The game was more simple and kind of new person friendly back in season 3 but now it's either your sweaty af and will dominate all the time or your new bad and will uninstall after seeing how bad this games community is. so many weird guns and cars why can't it just be the base guns, like the ar burst ar pump shotgun tactical shotgun maybe smg suppressed smg bolt action sniper semi auto sniper rocket launcher grenade launcher. And chug jug grenades minis big pot slurp juice bandage and medkit. The reason I listed these guns is because they hold a special place in my heart as the ogs

I'm season 1 aswell and your right fortnite now is so sweaty and it's less realistic with uefos and stuff I stopped properly stopped playing this game 6 months ago and I only did cuz of the toxicity and the complication of the game.
