    Poor Murray, he just happened to be in the same era with the three greats Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. I can't remember how many GS finals he lost before winning the first one. But huge respect for him for never giving up and fighting till the end. So happy that he eventually got his own 3 GS titles, 2 Olympic golds and ended year 2016 as no 1.

    Stan won in such a humble demeanor, knowing nadal was suffering an injury. Held back celebration and clearly cared about Nadal’s well-being

    The 2005 final between Safin and Hewitt was the first one I remember watching, as I think it was also the first one to be broadcast on free-to-air TV in the UK.

    I remember watching Safin in my teens. Feels like he was a bit underrated. I always liked watching him play though.

      Bruno Berose Exactly. They always give him the weakest and inexperienced players to start, so he's more rested towards the end...to help him reach a quarter or a semi with the big names.

      He’s been playing like shit this year, of course it’s just small tournaments, but I’m picking nadal vs one of the younger guys. I think Rafa with his new serve is going to surprise some people

    What was the deal with Novak's handshake with the umpire at 5:30? It almost seemed like he didn't want to shake him. Was there any beef between them during the match?

    poor Murray :(..not one, not 2, not 3, ..but 5 finals lost. As someone else said if he'd played in the late 90s begining 2000s era he would have probably won a least once.
