I left Nottingham to move to Great Yarmouth. The old images are still fresh in my mind. Thanks for your upload.
Awesome video’s Paul. Lived there most of my life. Every time we’re in the uk we always visit home.
Many thanks Nic. I hope it won't be long before you're able to get back home again !!
Yet another winner Paul. I just love your videos. Thank you.

It’s sad......but time moves on and progress continues. It is nice to have nostalgic feeings though. 👍🏻

I grew up in Bulwell and lived on Strelley Street. My dad lived on Severn Street. My dadad DICK had pigeons I think at the woodcut. Murden/Witts. Is Strelley House still there??
I remember the stables which is the bus station - the BMX track and Sankey's woods b4 snapewood - great place to grow up then
Strelley House is still there... They'll never be able to knock that down thank god.
Interesting, things you must have seen at some point whether you realise it or not.
Thanks
can anypne put any photos on here of Bradford STreet, and a builders yard near the train!!!
Check out the photo albums on the Bulwell Photos Facebook page, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for on there :-) !
@@paulturton9755 i have checked them, i lived there around 1954/55 and left only been back since everything has been rebuilt.
i live near commertial
my bff live there xxx
Most scruffy Street in whole of bulwel then 😂
The building with the 4 heads on it on Highbury vale in 1936 was called Oakleigh Lodge. I can not find it on maps in the early 1900's. I think you may find it used to be a masonic lodge. Two of the heads on the front used to be freemasons. The third head of William Shakespeare they think he may have been one. Then religion being what the masons look to.
Ohhh thanks for that. I'll do some research later on and see what i can find
I've found Oakleigh Lodge on a 1915 map of Bulwell (these buildings weren't there then I'm afraid). It's now a social club which you can see on google, and it's set back and closer to the train line than from where this building is.

I have been to see my mum who is in a care home today. She lived in Bulwell - Basford from the early 30's till the late 60's but had family there till very recently. Most of the family have now passed away. The only thing she can remember is a family we married into built a lot of properties in the area. The name was Jackson.
