I also have a Everest 10 and i took the foam inserts out of the tires and it greatly improves crawling because it makes the tires less stiff and i also put a roll cage on the back for aesthetics
The Everest 10 has been around a WHILE. It's a great budget Rig that can be modified. It does have Oil Shocks... just not Losi quality. Actually, the Redcat is patterned after the Original Axial AX-10, the predecessor of the SCX10 one! I'd have one in a heartbeat, just for the fun. 😊
I put Duratrax C3 Deep Woods on mine and it crawles like crazy now. You won't be disappointed with this one. I like that you can either use NIMH or Lipo's with it.And you can add rear steering. Plus it comes with bead locks rims.
This was the first crawler I had, 5 years ago, it got me into the hobby, pen springs in the shocks, and a set of good 2.2 tires, and a cheap ( but faster turn) brushed motor, and they do pretty good. Doesn't compair to a trx4/ scx10ii/ vattera ascender/ element Enduro performance wise....however it's hard to beat for the money
Have a Everest 10 and a friend had a huge set of wheels and now goes where man has never gone before. :) There is a setting for a Lipo battery controller.
the Redcat E-10 is a direct clone of the old Axial AX10, the Night crawler is a newest version of a really old platform from losi. Both are twin vertical plate chassis,. Something to note that makes the Nightcrawler interesting is the axles have worm gears in them, so really low end torque and a bilt in drag brake.
For the tires cut out every other lug and take out inserts Is can put heavy duty sotter on the wheels as wheelweight or can go and buy wheelwakes and put them on the Rim
I remember you asking about high clearance links for the scx24 a while ago. You can get them on eBay under the name: SCX24 BETTY Deadbolt or C10 Jeep High clearance links w/ Ball Pivots More Colors
i love mine! ebay chassis + injora shocks= bye bye torque twist! + 4ws = fun cheap reliable (if u lock tight the axel screws down) , i broke 1 axel and steering knuckle crawling in my backyard (replaced all 4 with ebay metal ones for fun, make sure you lock tight all screws)
getting mine thurs, its gonna go alongside my lightly modded ecto, 2 redcat gen7 s both really modified. My gen7 will pretty much go anywhere my ecto goes. My first upgrades are gonna be a set of 2.2 xl ruptures, lots a brassat the wheels and of course a 1080.
I really like both of these trucks. I think if I had to purchase one it would be the redcat. With what I save, I could do some upgrades that would improve its already good capability! Nice comparison my friend!!!👍🏻👊🏼💪🏼🍻
this was my first 1/10 and only 1/10 i like it very much, stock shocks on mine are kinda messed up gonna swap em for some trx4 and make it a belly dragger, love to see what you do with yours!
I used to have one and I loved it I put a Jeep body on it and made it into a scale truck pretty much but I did put a bigger pinion and make it faster and it still had slow crawl
Best mod for the E10 is better tires and widen the wheel width. I add brass hub extenders and duratrax tires, it's much more capable. Rear steer would be nice, just haven't gotten round to it.
The rs10 rockslide lower links will help you tune this rig way down low! They mount the shocks to the link like a trailing arm, and is slide adjustable so you can get the center of gravity lower
Identical chassis to exceed rc maidstone! The crawlers that started it all for me 12 years ago.I still have it maybe I should share on the reddit review. Modded some back then with axial parts.

You just might find the perfect playground.... even if it's just a cement/concrete place. Drive small, LIVE LARGE. Best to all.
I just bought one of these my first 1/10th scale crawler really dope. I think I want to cut the tires like people are commenting about but I’m unsure exactly what they mean. Any tips?
Tires on the Losi look more squishy than the Redcat but I think I like the Redcat chassis better.....seriously thinking about getting the Redcat....I have a Shredder and absolutely love it but who likes to only go wide open all the time....I wanna crawl and climb some shit lol
I'm having trouble installing the Hobbywing Fusion SE in my Everest 10. That bar that's got the curve in it "sorry don't know the name of that part", the screw that holds the bar onto the frame is in the way and I can't get the plate that holds the motor screwed on. Any suggestions would be awesome. Hopefully someone can make sense on what I'm talking about. The Hobbywing motor is about 10mm longer than the stock motor.
I wish I could help you with some ideas but I sold this truck a while back and never really dug into it other than a quick review video. I hope someone sees this comment and can help you, I would suggest checking Facebook groups for some help if you have that option, Facebook kinda sucks but the RC communities are a great resource for help. Good luck 🤙🏻
@@UpperLeftRC I ended up sending back the Hobbywing SE 1800kv. I'm thinking about getting YOUQUKEJI Waterproof Brushless Motor 3660 3500KV, 80A ESC& Programming Card Combo. It only has 14 reviews rating of 4.3 ⭐s. The only thing I'm worried about is the size of the motor shaft, it looks bigger in the pictures. The crappy part is I don't have a local hobby store close by if I did I could just go and get what I want there. Oh well I'll get it figured out eventually. I appreciate you trying to help though, thank you👍👍
No I tried that almost immediately lol and the holes don’t line up correctly, if you nodded the bodies they could be “swappable” but I didn’t want to start drilling holes in either of them… not yet anyways
I bought my father-in-law an Everest 16 like 2 years ago to play around with. Yours is def cool, but the thing that kills me about them is the horrible torque twist. If they didnt do that, they would be really awesome trucks. I know about preloading the rear shock...but that takes away from mad flex that ot was originally bought for...
I also have a Everest 10 and i took the foam inserts out of the tires and it greatly improves crawling because it makes the tires less stiff and i also put a roll cage on the back for aesthetics
that torque twist SHEESH! I just ordered one for my dad for his birthday. Great budget rig to be honest. All metal links! You can't beat it!
Agreed! I think your dad will really like it

Check out the Danchee Ridgerock (also made by Redcat). It's a budget beast.
Also, 4 wheel steering out the box.

Can you give me any recommendations on what type of lipo to get, I plan on getting one soon but don’t know which lipo to run.

Don't grind the inside of the c hub unless you upgrade to cvd, the dog bones will bind if it turns too far, and kill the c hub
Do you know of the Redcat Danchee? its got 4 wheel steering :)

Right on 🤘🏼😎
I like how the gold chassis looks like a "Redcat"...ears eyes nose and cheecks... cool!
I see you Baby Digger, peeking from behind. When are we going to get a follow-up with it? Hopefully the house is going good and coming together
I’ll do a fallow up with baby digger soon, I got a motor on the way for it and the house is coming along slow but good 😄👍🏻

No problem, thanks for watching 🤘🏼😄
Also the gen 7 parts fit the axles, so the new high steer stuff gets about 40 degrees steering, use cvd axle shafts! lol
For the tires cut out every other lug and take out inserts Is can put heavy duty sotter on the wheels as wheelweight or can go and buy wheelwakes and put them on the Rim
If you cut the tires and four-wheel steer it's actually pretty capable maybe some shocks keep all that torque push down
I took the foam outta the stock beadlocks in my Everest 10 significant difference tires are a whole lot softer

I disagree, best mod I did was internal pen springs in the shocks to pull the height down a little, also helps cover up the torque twist
Great video my rc friend 😀😃

Put a new servo and new tires that Everest will be mint
Which one do you like more the everest 10 or the night crawler.

For 170 bucks it is probably the best you are going to get. I have had real success with it.
Flip the transmission the other way, it helps get rid of that torque twist
Thanks for the helpful tip 😄👍🏻
Best part is it's highly modifiable
