- Well, a lot has happened this year with our DWJ crew and it’s been a while since the three wise men of the show got together to discuss it all. So this week as 2024 is coming to an end, Sam, Brandon, and Johnny Christ cover the year & where we’ve been for the last few months. Milestones in Johnny’s professional life, a wedding, career changes and more. Johnny and the crew take a step into mental health in the second hour as Johnny shares a huge realization in his life, and the journey he took with the help of his friends family and fans. Looking forward to the future, the trio hint to some changes happening to the show next year so stay tuned and follow us everywhere! Enjoy this week's episode and Happy Holidaze ya Filthy Animals.

Man, I'm thrilled to hear your story about your dream coming true. It's a beautiful thing to hear, especially coming from a guy who's part of a band that marked my life. Knowing that you had this moment of fulfillment in my country brought a sincere smile to my face. I hope you come back to Brazil as soon as possible. You can be sure that Brazil will never forget Avenged Sevenfold. Even if the band didn't come here for 20 years, it would still sell out and the audience would still know and sing all the songs. Thanks for the testimony. Brazil will always love A7X, Rip The Rev, and long live A7X. 🇧🇷
The more I hear from you, the more I am certain that you have a beautiful heart.
Looking forward to more in the coming year. (Even the silly bits)
❤❤

Thank you for this, Johnny. My trauma has been crippling for 3.5 years, and watching your show was often the only thing I could get myself to do for about 2 of those. Many days it was my only activity. It helped me not to go into _complete_ shutdown during that period, and as a result, I've recently been able to become a bit more active in life again. Learning about your experiences feels ironic in the best way; I'm also thrilled that you're so open & willing to talk about them and the treatment you've gotten in such helpful detail.
_(Edit: Any viewers who don't know what I'm talking about, it starts at __1:15:45__ and lasts until the end.)_
It's also really great to hear about this voluntary treatment facility. My trauma stems mostly from involuntary treatment, and when I was in the worst of my phases, I had providers urging me to seek inpatient help - probably the most triggering thing I could have done. I kept saying I didn't think it was a good idea, but could keep the option in mind if there was a place that was voluntary-only, and they seemed completely unfamiliar with any such place. It was really therapeutic just to hear that this place exists, for numerous reasons - I've also always wondered why treatment never seems to involve academic-style education for patients about their conditions, and generally lacks brain imaging as well. It seems like a no-brainer that these tools should be used. Since this program exists, I'm sure others do as well, and I *love* your idea of finding out about other resources to share with the community.
Hearing about all this definitely informs the options I know are out there. Two of my biggest breakthroughs came when Matt talked about his experiences _(the first helped me realize that respectable people can be in therapy; the second informed me there was much more help out there than I'd been offered)._ This really reinforces that second idea: Now that I know there are plenty of tools like this _somewhere,_ I know there's more to seek out. Now that I know this in-depth education _exists_ for patients, I am motivated to get my providers to educate me (or point me in the right direction). I think this is a fantastic use of your platform.
Thanks again for this and everything else, Johnny! Cheers. 🥂 _(Sam and Brandon, too!)_
You're a light, Johnny! Thanks for being so vulnerable and sharing your experience. You are so brave 🩷🩷🩷

Thank you so much for this amazing video! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Thanks for sharing your story with us. Mental health is not talked about enough in society. Ive had my share of crappy shit. In fact 2019 to 2020 was a very crappy time frame for me My best friend of 18 years died of a heroin fentanyl overdose in front of me I found him I had to deal with the first responders identifying the body I told his family and then I went with his mom to the medical examiner to get his belongings. And then I had issues with housing and a lot more than that stuff with my kids and then my step dad was murdered and they never caught the person who did it and I still don't know how I'm still mentally saying through all that. F*** between you guys's music your podcast therapy and some really supportive friends I take it little by little every step every day and I know I'm not the only person who goes through these things millions of people go through it everyday. And not to mention I grew up with a father who was bipolar paranoia schizophrenia self-medicated with drugs and alcohol so I saw what self-medicating does through human being and I swore on my children I would not be that kind of person thankfully I am not and kudos to you for realizing something wasn't right you needed further help you got it and you're learning more about mental health. I also recommend you reaching out to Tammie Frank. Her husband was Jason David Frank from power rangers he had mental health issues unfortunately he committed suicide and she started a foundation in his honor called be a legend and it's educating people on the mental health and how much we overlook it and she's pushing for changes in more education in the school system just in general
Oh the last episode for this year?

Thank you Johnny for being so open with what you went through, it probably wasn't easy. I am sure it will help the people you are reaching 🙏 very glad to hear you are doing better. We are not the sum of our traumas, we are more than that ❤

Thanks for sharing a very personal breakthrough with us. You're helping a lot more people that I think you realize. I'm happy for you and I hope you continue to heal and enjoy life. ❤❤❤
I don't know what you're into, but there's a channel by Chase Hughes that goes into all sorts of brain stuff. Super fascinating (I found him through The Behavior Panel channel which is also interesting).
I wish all three of you only the best life has to offer in 2025 and beyond (Brandon, it's not a firing, it's a redirection. Find something that you love and where you'll be respected).
Enjoy the holiday season and can't wait for the new stuff in 2025! 🎉 (See you in Chicago!)
Thank you. Will check that out. And thanx for warching
