I bought the '24 Pathfinder Platinum about six months ago and am very pleased with it. It's a very solid truck with it's best feature IMO being the drive train. Nissan's VQ35DE V6 mated to the 9 speed ZF transmission is very smooth and quiet with sufficient power and seamless shifts. I've test driven several of the competitors with their turbo 4's, e.g., Atlas and Enclave, and was alarmed at how loud and thrashy the engines sounded. I'm averaging low 20's mpg around town and was in the 25-27 range on long road trips. The doors all close with a solid thump and the double pane glass helps keep the cabin quiet. As pointed out in the review, the Platinum does have a lot of premium features like the HUD and surround view camera along with the heated and cooled seats and heated and power adjusted steering wheel. It also has the proximity key feature which allows you to keep the fob in your pocket or purse. The truck unlocks as you approach and locks when you walk away-nice feature. As mentioned, the infotainment screen is a tad on the small side and the technology does seem to be a generation behind but it gets the job done. Additionally there are buttons and knobs for virtually all key features which are much appreciated. One of the key reasons I opted for the Pathfinder over other options was front seat head and leg room which is some of the best in the segment. Also the seat bottoms are sufficiently long so as to provide good thigh support. The midsize SUV segment is about as competitive as any in the auto world and the Pathfinder is definitely worthy of your consideration if you're in the market.
Great review. Nissan is becoming much more relevant again. Interestingly, it’s been largely by heavily revising older models rather than truly all new ones. I could be wrong. Either way I do think they are moving in the right direction.
Good insights. I think the Pathfinder is a compelling option for many in this SUV category. Towing is higher than average, for example, and value for money too.
Yes. The second row seats recline. I am not sure about the glass. And I never tested the BSM, but it makes an obvious noise for its lane-departure warning system, so i assume so, yes.
Yes acoustic glass on the windshield and front windows, it’s very quiet. Yes BSM on the mirrors it beeps if you going into a lane with a vehicle there.
all-wheel-drive goes without a transfer case, 4-wheel-drive gets one. Typically, all-wheel-drive has a center differential instead and does not give the driver much choice in torque distribution, where as four-wheel-drive lets the driver choose two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive. I hope that helps.
@ I did buy the Pathfinder but the sales guy never went over the 4 wheel drive thing. I just assumed it went into 4WD when it needed to do so depending on the road conditions. Is there a setting somewhere to engage 4WD? Thanks.
@@kerrylittle3900 It's funny, Nissan calls it intelligent-four-wheel-drive, but it is an all-wheel-drive system. As long as you did not get a front-wheel-drive Pathfinder, the all-wheel-drive system will engage automatically.
No, it's carryover from 2023 and, pretty much, 2022. New generation for the 2022 model year. The main new thing for 2023 was that Nissan added the Rock Creek trim.
@@WilldudeWc the engine issues you refer to primarily apply to their older 4 cylinder engines made in the USA. Their v6 engines seem to be fine and models late in Korea aren’t affected
Oh My Gosh! Not anymore. Thank you! Yeah, that was the Infiniti QX60, which is, effectively, a more luxurious Pathfinder, which I reviewed earlier. And the two were painted the same color. Here's my review of the Infiniti QX60, if you're at all curious ruclips.net/video/XljUe49QKJc/видео.html

Great review. Definitely one of the better car review channels on you tube. Nice job. Call off your son, I liked the video. 😊
Thank you! I’ll hold off my son as long as I can. 😉
Good review.
Thank you

Do the second row seats recline?
is the glass double paned for noise reduction?
Is there an audible tone with the BSM?

Can you explain the difference between AWD and 4 wheel drive? I see there is two choices for that.

It’s not as good as the telluride or palisade but I’d absolutely choose it over the highlander and grand highlander
Telluride and Palisade are less reliable though. Kia and Hyundai are known for low quality parts and frequent engine issues.

Why do you have an Infiniti QX80 as the thumbnail? Lol
