Crawley cut through our midfield like knife through butter and worked out how we set up and got through the lines easy. We were quite lucky today , they created a number of chances good job there finishing was woeful. 3 big points though again and needed that , as we will remain top for at least another week, and good boost to have to take into the orient match.
Hangover from the loss of a big away day at Birmingham I’d say. They were lacking motivation for me today. Played ok and managed to get a win but have to turn it on next match.
This is clearly an indictment of just how good a team we are. To carve a result out of a game where we were nt the better side, had less possession, less shots on target and still won. Tremendous determination, grit and strength. And superb keeping skills from Arthur. COYR ♥️🏴
Max Cleworth with another excellent game in his defensive role. Attacking and passing with touch and skill. Goal and a wonderful heads up assist to Lee. The thing plaguing the front line currently is the hero shots. Mullin is pressing and getting more frantic. He doesn't look like he is back in form yet. Gotta be thankful the team is performing well enough, but there are more games like today in the coming weeks/months. Going to test the defensive positioning. Could have easily lost by 2-3 goals had Crawley been more technical in their final third. Need more possession and passing from the back rather than hoofing it over the top and hoping. All said, well done get three points. Keep them coming!
Great to see the progression of Max Cleworth. Ive followed his progress through the documentary and when he rarely got a start, through to today where he has blossomed not just as a defender but also a goal threat as well. Always comes across as a decent young lad off the pitch as well
2 lucky points yes and a terrible performance on the pitch. how easy it is when the first pressing phase is not accurately done is hilarious. send a through ball just into the middle and its a 1vs1 with the keeper. the first games into the season the pressing was top notch and the team more dominant at all. but agree top of the league 3 points all what matters in the end.
@@maibat1 Since when are you awarded TWO points? Not since the 1980s I think. The linesman should have had the Crawley goal disallowed, if anyone had luck it was them!!
Really admire Wrexham. Would be very happy to see them promoted again. However this performance left much to be desired. I am glad you guys have Okonkwo, he needs first team football and Wrexham are giving him that.
Amazing game Lads! How in da hell did ya get that first goal, fecking unbelievable Lad Unbelievable! LFG Wrexham! LFG! keep up the amazing work and as always please stay safe! Excelsior! Heff
It's actually quite amazing that Okonkwo signed for Wrexham. Considering he was basically signed with a premier league team (and most likely would have had chances to sign with a premier league team at some point) it really shows the faith in Wrexham's future.
Could Arthur of done better for their goal ? Just seemed a bit effortless to me 🤷♂️ yes was drilled low but no anticipation... just asking peoples thoughts
But where else is he going to get minutes? He went to a big club in a small division, with a lot of eyes on him. If he wants to get to the premiership, first job is get to the championship. Wrexham is a great move for him, and hopefully for Wrexham too.
For those confused at what happened with the Crawley goal. Linesman put his flag up to signal the player who ran in the previous ball over the top was offside, he then put the flag down when Wrexham cleared it. When the linesman puts his flag up, it’s offside end of story there is no take backsies. The play shouldn’t have stood
Law 6, FA Rules of the Game: "Other match officials [...] will assist the referee in controlling the match in accordance with the Laws of the Game but the final decision will always be taken by the referee." Ref overruled the lino.
Not really, (wrexham fan). Play was legit. Raising the flag is a visual cue for the ref to know that a player was offside. However, that doesn't constitute stoppage of play if the player isn't engaged in the play. Engaged being the key word. Just because the ball comes your way doesn't mean you're engaged in the play (even if it was meant for you). This is why you see legal offside trick plays like through the players legs who are offside. He didn't engage the ball, nor did he engage the player who was fielding the ball. Actually good referring, playing as the rule is intended. Wrexham got caught in a bad formation position and it was a solid transition.
From the states. I really appreciate that we are getting more coverage of the lower teir. Wish that the commentary from the booth would credit good football. I understand being bias towards who signs your checks. Boys are playing hard. Rising tide floats all ships. Some of these players may never find themselves in the champions league, but credit their glory under the spotlight and maybe they will be able to help raise the mls from being a retirement league
@@AdamJayTechnoElectro Carlisle United did similar in the 60's & 70's and i think Northampton Town may have done it in the 60s . Wrexham looking good , Carlisle won the old Division 4 in 1963/64 then the old Division 3 the year after 1964/65 they were 3rd in Division 2 in 1966/67 but didn't go up as only the top 2 teams were promoted had to wait till 1970/71 to come close again finishing 4th and finally in 1973/74 finished 3rd in Division 2 and were promoted to the top division1 as three teams were now promoted up the league. It was there only time in the top division they won 12 drew 5 off 42 matches but it wasn't enough and went back down to Div2 . Northampton Town Finished 3rd in Division 4 in 1960/61 promoted won Division3 in 1962/63 and finished 2nd in Division 2 1964/65 Promoted to Division 1 finished 21st in 1965/66 and relegation two great stories of going through the leagues .
Good win, but Wrexham are living dangerously with this playing style. Come Jan, depending on how things look like on the table, we need to get some championship level midfield players. Birmigham cut through us like chicken... and we wouldn't want to get promoted and come back down immediately. Parky needs to look into this playing style, you can't only rely on set pieces and headers... you need to build up the goal through the midfield if you plan to play in the championship at all.
That is Robbo then yea!? My thinky-bitz have been throwing a temporal tantrum... glad they are going with a 2man crew.... its just the natural setup I think.
I have 1 question. If we are to go up to The Championship, are Wrexham financially able to compete? I don't know if I want us to succeed and then come back down. If we go up I'd much rather sit for a season, soak it in, and then go to the EPL. I might say the same with this season. No one expected us here and no one expected us to be top so imho if we stay top end and succeed next year, it's still a sick achievement.
@willchannelle4874 Completely irrelevant in all fairness kid, Just about won against Crawley.. They got humbled by a far better side being above us by +1 goal difference means nothing 😂😘

Wrexham's leaky defense almost lost this game. Way too many chances for the opposition, lucky they could not take advantage.
