Medical-surgical units get lots of different kinds of patients. If you're a student about to start your first med-surg clinicals or considering a staff nurse job on one, here are the most common types of patients you'll see.

I am a brand new LPN in the med sur/telemetry unit about to end my training program, and I still struggle with everything pretty much. How long it takes to feel confidence? I know its different for everyone, but any advices/suggestions? Anyone!? Thank you!

It takes months, honestly. The goal when you get off of orientation is to be able to handle the basics, while knowing what your resources are to dig into the situations you're unfamiliar with. It's not a goal for you to be at peak efficiency or skill when you get off of orientation, if that makes sense. You've got this!
