Man i had zero plans on this. I have zeta in combined mode and mmc in robot mode. But this guy looks incredible! Thanks for the great look. I may need to do some selling
Yeah the Zeta bots are individually trash but combined is SOOO good, especially the most recent metallic finish. I have no special love for any of the individual characters but if this first figure is any indication I may need to find space!
Mine arrived a few days ago and he's even better in hand. Transformation was also pretty simple and one of the few Masterpiece figures I have that I didn't need to watch a video on how to transform them. He transforms just like he should. Only problem, he's very tight and a spudger is definitely needed, especially on the first couple of transformation. I had to watch the thigh portion as well as I saw Bobby Skullface scrape it up. This will be my Bruticus and I'm not going to get FT or XTB. He's super light though but plastic feels very good and not cheap like their Optimus Prime. Paint is also very good. If you're on the fence, get him as he's worth it. Oh, they missed a second coat of paint on the additional leg piece for combiner mode and since Brawl is the left leg, it's noticable as it's on the outside lower portion. It just looks like it's been roughed up a little bit.
@@saysoun752 im thinking just what you said ......... love FTs but this looks good and at fraction of the cost of FTs .............. i have every FTs im missing reflector and omega, i have the dx9 omega he great
@@israelmoreno3620 He's really nice and I'm really liking him. The tricky part is transforming back into robot as the leg piece has to line up a certain way out else it won't fit properly. Once you realize this, he's super easy. Oh, ShowZstore also has the upgrade kit portion for preorder if you want him to look more toon accurate. I went ahead and pre-ordered that as well. Probably won't need the toon but, it's a nice option to have in case I do want to display him in toon. Plus, these kits are usually one and done so once they sell out, they stay sold out. I missed out on the DX9 Omega Supreme as I had an emergency and had to cancel my preorder. This was the re-release so I'll have to either wait for another release or just not have him at all. I think DX9 Omega Supreme is the best version.
Im super impressed with this release. The quality of the plastic is top notch. No stress or sprue marks. A couple of connections can be scary especially with the treads but overall, I am all in on this combiner. Oh you forgot the little flaps for the tail lights. Good job on the review!.
My favorite youtube reviewer! No silly schtick! No goofy overused catchphrashes! Just good, honest opinions with excellent views of the figures! I am excited for this toy. Mine isn't here yet but is on the way. I do believe they will eventually release this one with the matching combiner toe and probably add diecast to the feet at some point too. This will be my rep in tank mode at that point.
I had no intentions of getting this guy, or starting another combiner, but WOW! You're right. It's a great figure, and another win for masterpiece Magic Square. Can't wait to see more of this line!
This figure is pretty great. I've been waiting for your review before I transform him 'cause I knew you'd give me a nice cheat code for an easy transformation and you don't disappoint. I swore I'd never get another magic square after that prime sucked so bad, but this looked too good to pass up and I'm happy I grabbed it. Magic Square redeemed themselves to me, at least for now, and I'm looking forward to completing this set. Thanks for the review.
@@keyboardt8276 The original release of their MS-02 Light of Peace. It didn’t have the premium paint of the second release MS-02EX and used nylon plastic instead of the ABS plastic that’s on this Brawl. It was floppy, barely held together in alt mode because the plastic was so weak, and just felt like a piece of trash, at least to me. Now to be fair, the second release used better plastic and Sony swears by it, but that original release was garbage.
Well, that's the exact opposite of NewAge where they'll do a toon version first followed by toy, comic, Shattered Glass, G2, transparent and limited edition variants, which is then doubled in price.
I’m gonna grab all these for bot mode and if the Bruticus is as tall as my Zeta, I’ll be grabbing the toon ones, too, to replace my Bruticus. Really excited for these bots.
@@bradysimpson I'm definitely grabbing Magic Square's take on Bruticus as I've always liked their designs and only hate the nylon plastics and Lexi of paint. This has none of those issues.
Watched video yesterday as I knew Magic Square was going to make more Masterpiece figures but, didn't know they've already got one done and out. I just bought this figure from ShowZstore so here's hoping I'll get him relatively soon. He looks fantastic and this review didn't convince to buy him, it just made me want him even more. Great review.
This figure has turned into one of my favorite figures! Can't wait until the next one is released and when and the price! I purchased mine directly from Magic Square and it was on sale! Under $100! Articulation is off the charts! Great video!
Really enjoyed this review! I really like this figure, it sucks I want to buy another brawl lol!! I will control myself though, ocular max checks all the boxes and I have g1 and g2 versions. Great piece though and I am really curious to see how this whole combiner shapes up, will it be ocular max scale or zeta scale? Time will tell!
You’re definitely right he is also one of my favorites as well. And I like his honesty as well. Hey TM keep up the good work!!! Great review. I’m still waiting on mines to come in I’m excited for this set. I’m have zeta so theses are for my bot mode. I wish it had die cast but for the $119 that I paid from Show Z can’t complain cause this figure looks amazing.
I really got into masterpiece figures after Light Of Peace Optimus. And I got to say, Brawl makes me very very very interested. The accuracy to the cartoon, the articulation, and Magic Square being generally a bit easier on the wallet compared to other MP or 3rd party companies, really makes it hard for me not to get him. If I wouldn't have spend recently a bit of money, I would have bought him already.
Everyone either fails or forgets to flip out the rear lights on the tank. What a great transformer though! The only thing that would have made this guy better is if it came with a spudger to help pull apart all those insanely tight tabs.
Would have preferred if they did their Megatron in MP but past that I'm excited for and really enjoying this MP offering. It's going to be one heck of a team when done. Just wondering how they'll have to re-engineer Vortex at this scale. Maybe they'll use less "puzzletails"...😊
Looks great, but I'm not biting until MS reveal their plans for the toon version accessories. Sure as hell not buying this only for another version to come out later. I know what MS are like.
Looks like they learned from their mistakes with the roll out of Light of Peace and finally released a painted version first. Do you think it feels off because of its smaller scale compared to the size of the FT combiner bots?
Personally this is about the right size for combiner bots for me. I’m probably in the minority, but if the FT Constructicons we’re thus tall in bot mode I’d be all over them! Guess I’ve always thought of combiners as being smaller but I guess that isn’t necessarily canon
Welp..... You just sold me. lol I ordered mine just now. Thanks! Also, please try to review the DreamStar toys Constructicons! I'm dying to know whether DreamStar actually improved their QC.
I asked Bobby this but I wanted your input as well. If you have this on a shelf with similar sized XTB figures, and then replace this with an MMC figure (either MMC Brawl or another MMC figure) which one has a better presence? This, or MMC?
Aesthetically I think it looks great but it does sound very hollow during the review. Have they said if they will be doing separate Anime/Cartoon accurate versions or like a separate pack with the anime/cartoon pieces yet? The bot looks pretty much spot on for toon accuracy but that gray combiner foot definitely is not.
I have to salute you. Holy crap, that transformation, lol. The fact you could talk through the steps of the transformation is impressive. Well done. If I were interested in picking up this figure, it would likely never be transformed, even once lol.
The only problem I have is that my light of freedom fell on the shelf the arm broke at the elbow and magic square hasn’t responded it’s been 3 months and I’ll probably never recommend anything from them ever again it’s sucks because it is nice

You just compared it to the Zeta foot.

If you get the turret in place before you fold the head into the chest, it makes it a lot easier.
I’m wondering if I should start selling my MMC Combaticons. I’m seriously considering it after watching this review.
Same here. Love the MMC Bruticus which I have, but this guy blows MMC Brawl out of the water.

Great look, good movements, but the question is, are they to light for the leg-mold in combination? Do they struggle? Maybe? What did you guys think?
