    Moika Oliver,
    May you please mention some of the Universities or UAS who is offering scholarship for cost of living in addition to the tuition fees... how do you think some big companies, organisations or parties could help international students to get a student loan or scholarship?

    • @RoadtoFinnish
      @RoadtoFinnish  3 года назад +3

      Hey Meyerovich and thanks for the question! Unfortunately the only university that i know for certain to offer a number of living cost scholarships is the university of Helsinki. You can check out the specifics here: www.helsinki.fi/en/admissions-and-education/apply-bachelors-and-masters-programmes/tuition-fees-and-scholarship-programme
      In terms of companies and organisations, i have no idea about any entities like these because it is not common for Finnish organisations to fund bachelor's or master's studies. This kind of a system exists only for doctoral studies.. Some Finnish students use government guaranteed student loans to fund their studies but these particular loans are only for Finnish nationals.
      Sorry for not being able to help here.

      To be quite honest, i have no idea. I would recommend that you check out the university website and specifically their webpage on application requirements. However, do note that the webpage most likely still has the information for last year and it will be updated for the upcoming application round in September-October.

    Hi I want to study my bachelor's in Finland which universities are available January 2022 intake

    • @RoadtoFinnish
      @RoadtoFinnish  3 года назад +1

      Hi Rajeev. As a general rule of thumb, there are very few university programmes that start their studies in January (in the spring term) and most of the schools start their studies in late August or early September (autumn term). This means that the clear majority of applications for the upcoming academic year (starting in autumn 2021) have already gone. In Finland there are basically 3 application rounds during which Englight taught programmes are offered:
      1. Autumn (september) application round
      - applications happen in September
      - pretty much no universities take part in this application round and only universities of applied sciences are available (if you dont know what the difference is, please watch this video: ruclips.net/video/u2cDS0xAnkk/видео.html)
      - studies start in January next year
      2. Winter (December) application round
      - applications start in December and ends in January
      - only English taught master's degrees
      - both universities and universities of applied sciences take part
      - studies start in late August or early September the same year
      3. Spring (January) application round
      - applications start in January and end either at the end of January or mid February
      - only English taught bachelor's degrees
      - both universities and universities of applied sciences take part
      - studies start in late August or early September the same year
      Again, please note that the clear majority of bachelor's applications happen in January. If you want to learn more about these application rounds and their schedules, please watch this video: ruclips.net/video/nN8Amqu_cVA/видео.html
      If you want to apply for the January intake, please check out the selection of degrees from this website: beta.opintopolku.fi/konfo/en/haku/?hakutapa=hakutapa_01&opetuskieli=oppilaitoksenopetuskieli_4&order=desc&size=20&sort=score&yhteishaku=1.2.246.562.29.00000000000000000800

      Yes you can. You should do this during the spring joint application period when the international bachelor's programmes are open for application. There are also some individual UAS English taught bachelor's programmes that are open for applications during the autumn but the clear majority of these are applied for during the spring application. For more information on the timing and the application system, please check out my video where i explain the different application methods in Finland: ruclips.net/video/nN8Amqu_cVA/видео.html

      Ive never heard of a rule like this so i cant confirm or deny it. However, please note tha the application requirements always depend on the school that you are applying to and there are no general rules that apply to every UAS. Please check the exact application requirements from each UASs website and conract their admission services to ask this directly from the schools.

    It's clearly stated on website that none of Finnish universities give expenses for living costs. Therefore there are no FULLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP IN FINLAND.

    • @RoadtoFinnish
      @RoadtoFinnish  2 года назад +1

      University scholarships are dependent on the individual school and programme that you are applying to so you need to check out all of the individual schools to find the best scholarship programme for you. About fully funded scholarships: some universities like the University of Helsinki used to offer fully funded scholarships even last year but these have apparently been phased out. Instead of fully funded scholarships, universities nowadays offer so called Finland scholarships that do cover additional costs on top of your tuition fees. You can read more about them here: www.studyinfinland.fi/scholarships/finland-scholarships

    • @RoadtoFinnish

      Hey Majid and thanks for the question. No, there are no specific numbers of scholarships that one can get nor are there specific numerical requirements that define whether or not you will be granted one. All scholarships are granted on a competitive basis and the university scholarship board has always the last word on this.

    If i am admitted to centria upcoming autumn joint applicatio in bba programme. Can i transfer myself to bachelor in IT in the same university without paying any extra fee and lossing any extra time? Is it possible? What is the procedure

    • @RoadtoFinnish
      @RoadtoFinnish  3 года назад

      Hey Abid and thanks for the question. My understanding is that you cannot do this. There is no process for you to transfer yourself to another programme because this would basically just elicit people applying to those programmes that are easy to get into just so that they could transfer themselves later to a more desirable one.
      If you want to study in a specific programme, you need to apply to it through the normal university application process.
      Disclaimer: this is based on my personal research on the Finnish university system and if im wrong here and if there are exceptions to this rule, i want to know about them. So as always, if you are not 100% convinced, please contact the school personally and ask them the same question. They will be able to give a 100% definite answer.

      Hello,
      the September 2021 BBA application round will be for a Business Management programme. If you get accepted, it is possible to apply for a transfer to another programme. The transfer application is open twice a year.
      However, at this moment, we do have other programmes full and the transfer cannot be promised. It is always evaluated case by case based on programmes´ needs.
      I would recommend for you to apply in January 2022, for the programme which you actually wish to study 😊!

    Eligibility criteria and study gape and age limit ?

    • @RoadtoFinnish
      @RoadtoFinnish  2 года назад

      The eligibility criteria to study in Finland depend on each university and each of their study programmes individually. Please make sure to check out university websites for more information. In terms of an age limits, there is none. Study gaps do not generally impact your application (at least there is no limit to this) but you have to also remember that universities in Finland admit people based on their merits on a competitive basis. So if you have two people with the exact same merits, previous study backgrounds and grades BUT one of these two has a long study gab (and no work experience to replace it), this might be a negative to the admissions board. Having said this, a study gap should not matter much if you have been using that time productively e.g. by working on your career.

      If you want to work in Finland, you need to get a residence permit for work. Please check out the specifics from the Finnish immigration service: migri.fi/en/working-in-finland However, to summarise the process, you need to first find a Finnish company that is willing to hire you and they need to give you an official job offer before you can apply for a residence permit to work here. To be quite honest, this is not going to be easy because the permit process can take a really long time and most Finnish companies are not willing to wait this long unless you are just a superstar in your field. Its much cheaper and more risk-free for them to hire someone who is already residing in Finland.
      In terms of the citizenship, yes it is possible to apply for Finnish citizenship but you need to work here full-time for quite some time before you can do this. For more information on this issue, please refer to the information that the Finnish immigration service has provided: migri.fi/en/period-of-residence
