How To Set Chinese Diesel Heater Temperature Controller Settings
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 26 дек 2019
- This quick video shows how to change the settings on a Chinese diesel heater controller to display the desired temperature for the controller thermostat. Out of the box, the Chinese diesel heater temperature for the thermostat is not displayed on the controller temperature settings and instead displays the pump frequency. Cycling through the heater controller settings does not bring up the diesel heater temperature thermostat settings so a button sequence is required to change the controller settings to display the temperature. Once the sequence is pushed, the Chinese diesel heater controller will display the thermostat setting instead of the pump frequency setting. The same sequence changes between the 2 settings so either can be changed with ease. If you find the video useful, please give it a Like and Subscribe if you're new to the channel, thanks.

Nothing beats this thing for the price. I love it. I'm so glad I installed one.
Thanks for the tip, I was having a hard time with the manual. I really appreciate you taking the time to make the video.
Great tutorial. Thank you. I was wondering if the unit had an actual thermostat-controlled setting. That's what i was missing was to hit the OK button after selecting the desired temperature. Cheers! 🇨🇦
Thank you sir. We're currently away for a family weekend, chilly night, realised something must have pressed against the control panel and placed it in the hertz mode. Cheers.
Thank you. You saved my day. Tried this nonsensical manual in English and German for hours - why can they not have a native speaker check their manuals.
Thanks again.
Thanks for this. I just installed my second heater in my shed and unlike the first, was in the pump frequency by default. Sorted now!
Glad it helped
Dude, THANKS for the video! I’ve been searching hours now for the how to change the thermostat up and down! Thank you!!
No problem 👍
Spot on, I'd set the temperature but the heater would exceed it, I wasn't pressing ok after I set the temperature so I'll try that tomorrow and hopefully it'll work. Thank you 👍
Thank you, this hidden menu I was searching for
I just install one of these in my semi truck
Thanks !!
Thanks for that. I was struggling to find set the temp, because the manual is totally incomprehensible.
Thanks, much Gratitude. Love the heater 😊😎
Excellent explanation! Thank you!
Thank you, this was a great video.
Thanks buddy your video helped a lot.
Best video yet 👍🏻
Thanks so much.. Was getting so frustrated!
Glad it helped!
thank you. nice one 😀
Very very helpful
Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!!
Thx from Cretan Winter !
Nice, thanks!
thanks for tips
Big like!!u really help me!!👏
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you
Brilliant!
God bless you sir
Just installed mine great heaters that tip is handy that is what I wanted to no
Thanks, I couldn’t make sense of the manual, “now fire away” ?
Thank´s.
Great vid. I have a question. How can I adjust the screen's brightness, if possible? Thx
Thank you !
You're welcome
ok I THINK I figured it out from YOUR video.. So when i first used the van I set it to 18 - or so i thought - but I was boiling in the middle of the night so I lowered it as low as it could go and set it at 8 degrees C but it kept going and in the middle of the night i woke up and the thermostat was still at 22 degrees and i was boiling. SO I think what you are saying is i have to put it into thermostat "mode" by pressing those two top buttons at the same time and bring it into thermostat "mode" out of the other mode... then it should go to my set temperature.... ok I will try this tonight - wish me luck :) thanks
Brilliant! Thanks for that. Any ideas on how to increase the luminosity of the screen?
Wow...thank you so much!! Now i need to find how 2 change it 2 fahrenheit!! ✌❤
I don’t think you can change that as an option
@@TheCampervanBuilder ugh that stinks!! I have seen vids 4 it but it never works 4 me!! Just have 2 fig out the conversion. Thanx! ✌❤
Thanks brother 🙏
Welcome
Thanks!!!!!!
What's the best hertz settings for diesel? And can you get it to come on when the temperature drops below a temp like 5dec c and stop when I gets to say 15deg c?
I am struggling to even set the clock 😲 when I press the settings button , it doesn't flash to change clock numbers
Do you know, is possible to use heater only as fan? In summer, for air circulation and cooling. Thank you.
Cheers bud👍
No problem 👍
My controller is different but it functioned the same and I couldn't figure out how to switch back to manual mode. Thanks
Any ideas what's wrong when I press the buttons to purge the heater the pump doesn't come. But if I press on it runs on screen the red heat lights up a little time after the pump lights up green on the screen but I can't hear the pump going under heater just blows cold air out. Does anyone think that the pump is broken heating rod is damage any ideas would be very thank you Graham
Any idea on amount of fuel used at high setting? Hours per tank and size of tank? Wanting one for our conversion van but would like to see if i will need a larger tank or not and how economical these are to run. Thanks!
These are very efficient, I’ve ran mine for probably over 10 hours so far and used maybe 3l at most
I’m still not convinced that my display’s default settings are the same as everyone else’s. The icons are slightly different and I have not been able to auto-prime my pump by pressing the OK and DOWN buttons together. Instead I manually engage the pump with both UP and DOWN simultaneously. When I connect to power, my display shows P 12v and a red icon in the bottom left corner that shows a circle ⭕️ with a “minus” symbol in the middle. RUclips tutorials are generally unhelpful because I feel like my unit must be different or defective even though it looks exactly the same in design.
Hi buddy. So glad you added this one. Just nipped out and sorted mine thank you. Can you recommend what setting the htz should be. I have a 5kw. Thanks again
Steve
I’ve not played with the htz settings on it
The Campervan Builder once the heater reach 18° as perset and it goes in the tikcler mode, it will be silent or what?
Is there a way way to change from C* to F* ??
Would you know if there is a temperature sensor in the controller unit? Or does the controller use the temperature sensor in the heater air intake to control the operation of the unit? This would be relevant when the heater is installed outside and drawing fresh air. Quick and helpful video; thanks.
its in the controller
What happens when heater reaches desire temp would it switch off or slow down fan speed and maintain that temp?
slows and maintains the temp
Is the thermostat set in the control panel or in the heater itself? I want to install the heater in a under bed unit but that area will be a different temperature to where the control panel is located.
in the panel
Hi mate, do you know if that diesel heater can be used just to circulate fresh air ? Not blowing hot air ? Cheers.
Sorry I don’t know, not that I know of
hi, i got 1 of these heaters for my boat and it works really well. your video helped me out with setting up the temp. thank you.
do you if there any way of extending the control panel ? i intend on installing in my engine bay & piping hot air into 3 cabins.
the controller would need to be in the cabin but i cant find 1 with a long cable or extension. if any1 else has got around this problem pls enlighten me !
Cut the wires, add the required length of wire, solder and insulate all connections.
If you install the heater in the engine bay, ensure it's drawing the fresh air from the main cabin. Otherwise you may be heating engine bay fumes and putting said fumes into the living quarters
hi I managed to source a 2 meter extension cable from a UK supplier on FB via his China connection £10 delivered.
my engine bay is split into 3 compartments so heater isn't directly in engine bay, just trying to explain I needed a controller extension cable, all sorted tho. thank you 😊
I would suggest wrapping any pipe work in insulation/Heat shield 🛡 preventing heat loss for maximum efficiency
I get a ticking over noise that won’t stop when I turn down the temperature, the same noise when starting up, any ideas on why this is? Thanks.
the fuel pumps on these make a ticking noise.
This doesn’t seem to be the same as mine. Hitting the settings and up buttons at the same time produces a round timer/clock - looking icon at the top. I also don’t get the temperature showing up as I flip thru the OK button’s options. I seem to get a 130° C, instead.
Me too, did you fix this
@@suziesmith2404 @dizzy lizzy press the birghtness/settings button for 5 seconds to swap from hz to deg C
@@thesolitaryadventurer thank you!
My heater is blowing cold? It has worked fine so far but just blowing cold now. I've tried setting temp and using 1-6 to no avail? Is this a glow plug issue and is there a check I can do for the glow plug?
Thank you
best advise I can give is to join the Chinese Diesel Heater Facebook group, lots of knowledgeable people on there about these heaters
How can you make the cable on the lcd longer please?
You have to cut the wires and add the required length of wire, solder and insulate all connections
TYPICALLY mine doesn't behave the same as yours! Two top buttons pressed together activates 'Timer' mode. Anyway, messed around with other configurations and accidentally managed to find and adjust temp. down from the smelting furnace I was trying to fight last night.
Many thanks!
What buttons made yours control by temperature?
It drops down to the lowest setting of the six levels of heat? Level 1 is still too hot for me and I can’t sleep through the night without having to wake up to turn it on and off several times.
some have 7 day programmable timers on to turn them on & off through the day and night so you don't have to, check the facebook diesel heaters group for more info
Any way to change from degrees C over to degrees F?
Facebook heater group should be able to help
Does the controller have a built in thermostat and control room temperature.
Yes
Thank you! I was about to throw the damn thing in the garbage
glad to be of help
there is no lower/higher range? so how it works exactly. U set 18 degrees and it turn on when it goes 17 and turn of when it goes 19? On and off all the time?
yes thats how a thermostat works, just like your central heating at home
How do you change celcius to farenheight?
You cant
Thanks for the clear instructions it would have been useful to have a fuel gauge but heyho you can't moan at the price
My heater does not stop when it gets to set temperature. For example:
1) Trailer is at 14C
2) I set temperature to 20C. Heater turns on and heats
3) Trailer reaches 20C. Heater goes to minimum setting but does NOT stop
4) Trailer temperature keeps rising to 25C+, very uncomfortable.
How can we have the heater turn off or run fan alone when reach desired temperature?
thats how they run, they don't turn off, they just run at a reduced speed with the heating element off, but they don't turn off once a temp is reached
Where is the thermostat? In the lcd or the pump? I need to put it on a longer lead so it is in the room I am heating...
its in the lcd panel and the only way to extend is to cut and splice new cabling in
Mine will not stop at the desired temperature, just keeps hotter. Is this a fault of the controller?
The heater will not turn off on it's own, it just goes to the lower flow of air when it reaches the set temp. For me it's kinda lame because we only go where it's kind of cold, so we have to manually turn the heater on and off as needed, using the remote. Kinda makes for a bit of a busy/ restless night lol. I'm trying to figure out how to wire in my own thermostat which will act as the on/off when it reaches a certain temperature.
If actual temp is higher than target will continue to run at lowest output, I don't think it will turn off completely.
it doesn't turn off unless You turn it off, otherwise it goes in tick over mode
Does this rub off the vehicle's battery?
Off the leisure battery
@@TheCampervanBuilder if it a transit connect would off the starting battery be okay or would it drain it too much if using before vehicle has been started?
Mine is different. This combination doesn't work
Mine also doesnt work like that, the setting button doesnt seem to do anything.
My settings button does nothing either :(
Press and hold the settings button for approx 5 seconds. It should switch to temp then :-)
@@directtoplateltddtp9219 pressed the birghtness/settings button for 5 seconds. this worked a treat thanks!
So it runs continuesly then. I thought it switches on and off.
It goes in to a tick over mode, it doesn't shut off completely unless told to
@@TheCampervanBuilder thanks. Do you know how much power it uses?
I think between 2-7a depending on what its doing
@@TheCampervanBuilder auch. Thanks mate
You're not saying what I want to hear when the diesel heater reaches a desired temperature does it stay running or does it shut off completely that's what I want to know
it reduces its speed to a tick over until the temp drops and it kicks back in to full speed, these heaters don't fully turn off unless you turn them off (or they run out of fuel)
Pity its impossible to see what you're doing
Where do you set the switch so that votes flip to socialism?
Dude 🤣
@@harryjohnson615 I'm glad that the folks who own this real business played along with my stupid joke. Good👍
First you have to bring in a weak enough "leader" then let china do the rest
I push the same f****** button you do and mine doesn't do what yours does.
There are a few different models out there that have different sequences, but this is the most common one
Terrible lighting, very far away & doesn't say how to adjust with Fahrenheit. Don't worry tho no brits on youtube do
no-one else in the world other than America uses Fahrenheit, or ounces, or inches, get with the metric times.....
