- Desmond Bane led the Grizzlies with a career-high 49 points (19-31 FG), along with 8 assists, and 6 rebounds as the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Detroit Pistons, 116-102.
Desmond Bane becomes the second player in Grizzlies franchise history to record a 45+ PTS, 5+ REB, 5+ AST, joining Mike Miller (2/21/2007 v. GSW - 45 PTS, 6 AST, 5 REB). Most points for a Grizzlies player in a game since Ja Morant on Oct. 21, 2022 - 49 PTS.

If anything good came out of this Ja suspension, it was Bane’s opportunity to show that he can put up big numbers and be that real option for the Grizzlies other than Ja.I don’t think he would’ve gotten a game like this with Ja
He showed this last season, people just didn’t pay attention. Wasn’t dropping 50 but was often the best player on the court when Ja was out.
You clearly weren't watching him before he injured his foot last season. ESPN was talking about whether or not Ja and Des were the best back court. Both were averaging more than 25 a game.
@@Memphizm Not only do I watch the games I’m at the Fed Ex Forum often!Been in Memphis almost all my life and 25 a game is cool, which he was able to also do in many games with & without Ja over the years.That’s still completely different than being the main man for 25 games straight and putting up almost 50!Bane has gotten way better and was able to show more of that this year

I think some thought the contract he signed this offseason was inflated, but dude is definitely doing all he can do. I like Des because he has improved every single year and he seems to maximize his ability to the fullest. You can tell he puts in the work in the offseason.
