      You have some mistakes left in the video.
      - "en" was spelled as ھپ which reads as "hep"
      ‐ you used the Arabic ي but Ottoman turkish uses the Persian ی.
      -"çok" should be spelled as چوق
      Aside from that it seems accurate.

    For me, as a russian who was raised in an orthodox christian tradition, the Ottoman Empire is much like a very cool villain from a movie. You are obviously not on his side, but he is so badass and such a good character with his own story, motivation and style, that you love him nonetheless

      @@Critt_Aristill, they were Turkish in the sense that they spoke Turkish, were Muslim and fought for the Turkish nation. Calling them Greeks is a insult since these janissaries fought against them many times for the Muslim nation. So I don’t really think they are “their” people. No hate

    • @Critt_Ari
      @Critt_Ari 4 месяца назад

      @@Sigmar999 Janisseries were the de facto rulers pf the empire during the period between Suleiman's death and Mahmud the Second's Reformations. Even though they were from the Turko-Islamic tradition and had the balkan-anatolian culture of the Empire, this still doesn't make them Turkish as the house of osman themselves didn't really wanted Turks in their near as they were going to have the trauma of the Tatar betrayal of Sultan Beyazid during the battle of Ankara (known as Angora during those times) against Timur which lead to the captivity of the Sultan and the only Civil War the empire had, if we don't count the turkish war of independence, so they were afraid of Turks having positions higher in the government, which lead to the rise of Greeks, Bulgarians, Albanians, Serbians and Bosnians to higher positions. This made many balkan nations responsible of most of the administration and this trend would continue until the very start of 20th century with the young turks revolution and later the kemalist revolution.

      @@rcs5573 That increase in literacy had nothing to do with the reform though. We saw the exact same spikes in literacy in russia, Italy; syria, iraq and Iran around the same time: Sure, its true that the language change didn’t have a negative effect on this increase but trying to pin it on the reform is baseless.

      @@dranflame_1236 It was mostly due to the educational reforms and the change of the alphabet helped it, the reason behind the change of the alphabet was to use a more suitable one for the Turkish language after some modifications. The former alphabet had many incompabilities with our language. Lack of sounds etc. Also the language went under simplification and "Turkification". The language used had many Persian, Arabic and French words (up to 88%). The Turkish equivalents started to be used. That's why we have so many synonmys today. We call the Ottoman Turkish " Palace Turkish", you can guess why. It had many borrowed words with complex structures, totally unintelligible by the common people who used raw/basic Turkish in their daily lives. It may be a beatiful version of our Turkish but it is completely useless in case of daily usage. It it same as using English words in between Turkish words today to sound better. While for us Turks with a very low english speaking percentage it may sound cool but an average person on the street would look at you like you are speaking alien.
