Yes, these are Standardbreds. I race Standardbreds at Harrington Raceway and Dover Downs Raceway in Delaware. The colt is got great confirmation and is yearling to date. He is trained (jog cart) to date and turned out for the winter to grow. He will start back training after the first of the year for his 2 yr. old stakes campaign. Thank you for your kind remarks DMWBarngirl.
lol. I tell her that the horses are hers, make her feel important and she really gets involved in the everyday feeding and care of the horses. Raise her to respect the animals.
@Teresa451128 Thank you for your kind words. This video was taken when the colt was 8 hours old. You will notice that his rear leg tendons are quite loose. They tighened a few days after video was taken. He has perfect legs. A current photograph of the colt - Trooper is on my facebook site. He is now little over 2 months of age and big and strong.
Update on the colt in the video above. He is know over 2 years old and has perfect conformation and is currently in training. Other videos available in RUclips. One of the best horses I have ever owned.
I need to up load a current video on the colt, his legs are fine, he was only 8 hours old at the time of this video. As days pass, he becomes stronger and his back legs straighten. He is a good looking colt.
I have up loaded a current video of this colt 15 months later - Sombodydonsombody aka Trooper. One is a blooper and the other is after the blooper on Aug 27, 2012.
At the time of this video, the colt was 10 hours old. He is just learning to walk. Legs do that when they are just born, very wirery. It due to the back tendons and suspensory ligments being very flexible and loose, needed in the uterus (legs are folded) when mare is pregnant. It takes a couple of days of walking around for the tendons to tighten up to straighten up. He is fine and has good confirmation. Other videos show he is in training.
+jellyJammer 033 Maybe she had something else planned. She did not know the foal was born, so maybe she had other plans and got annoyed at the delay. If her horse was taken care of and not in-need of being fed ridden or groomed at the time, there is no reason she NEEDS to go see her horse. Maybe she had a friend coming over or something.
Trooper (Sombodydonsombody) is now five years old and racing at Dover Downs. His last win was in 152.2 Dover Downs Dec. 2015. Check out the United State Trotting Association web site for Trooper's racing lines. He is an awesome horse.
Foals sometimes get born like that, after a couple of days it will pass. It´s normal. I don´t care if you mum has a stud, I have four horses, I´ve seen MANY foals and it just happens. It will disappear.
All these hate comments are stupid. She's a kid she might of wanted to do other things. When I had a horse some days I didn't feel like going up. How is she a spoilt brat if she smiled and screamed with exitment when seeing the new horse. It's just stupid that your being mean towards a little girl !!
I love this! Lynn know, her face when she saw the colt was precious!

Be a good owner :) I want one
@LandLoop No, I'm guessing the mare is owned by the whole family, so when she has a foal, that foal belongs to them as well.

The nagging of the mom is just annoying. The kid is just... loud and obnoxious T_T

She has her own mare? And shes a bit of a brat...
He's so adorable! He's truly a cutie but, you may want to take the halter of the momma if she's in the pasture for long.
