Thanks for the lyrics. But I think she actually sings "But I couldn't stop the growling" (figuratively speaking about the sound of the wind) and "quiet" instead of "wild"
I've been listening to this daily for weeks. I think it's brilliant. It's just under-tempo to create some 'marching' tension. Her relaxed voice floating. The swinging way the arpeggiator comes back in on the second beat. The abrupt drop at 1:05 when the chorus finally comes in hard. "Give me all your power show me what I need to see." (I'll startle the people around me by cranking the volume for that part.) The syncopated way the arpeggiator comes back on the fourth beat of "and rock me like a baby." at 1:41. ... then lets the tension bloom at 1:50. Then the quiet "ugh" after "don't believe in me on my own" before the second chorus.
I listen to most of my music on Spotify, so it’s easy for me to forget how much else is out there. Every once in a while, I come back to this song, and it hits just as hard as it did the first time. So good.
Songs like this I don't really vibe with 100% of it to where I'd want to listen to it a lot but there are always parts where it's like she's writing or singing some perfect theme music for something that sounds really well composed.
