    Still one of my all time favorite songs. I was in high school, 17 years old when this was released. Still holds well to this day. Yes this song was great at spreading the gospel.

    Yes! A classic!! I have seen them live a couple times and they used to put on a very intense show. Unfortunately, the singer fell away and now calls himself a satanist.

      I can imagine they would have some pretty interesting live shows! But yeah, sad about what happened with the lead singer.

    Lol, oh my goodness... I used to have this album... I definitely remember this song. Lol I also remember the song Mulligan Stew 🤣.
    I don't think I particularly liked the lyrics style back then and still not really my thing but they are ok, lol probably because I heard them before a long time ago.
    I had forgotten I used to have this. Definitely good lyrics. Thanks for the reaction!

    You should do Tourniquet: The Skeezix Dilemma. It's long but mostly worth it. Another good one is Bloodgood: Crucify. They were some of the bigger names in Christian Metal and I think it could be interesting to see your video on their music.

    Nice! I'm the guy that recommended this song for you several months ago. Thought I'd check in to see if you had gotten around to it. Glad you had! Yeah, it's a powerful song musically; muscular, you might say. And very straightforward message.
    I told you if you liked the first song I recommended that I would send you a next one. Did you enjoy it enough to want to hear another from the really early days of this scene?

      @@Metal777 Are you into lots of different kinds of rock (punk/hardcore/psychedelic/progressive/AOR)? I get the vibe you might only be into metal, and mainly the more extreme side. Tell me where you're coming from and I'll send another song that I think you might find interesting! It's a blast to learn about the origins of Christian Rock and how underground it was for so long.

    • @timandmonica
      @timandmonica 2 года назад +1

      Hey man. I didn't hear back from you about if you are into other kinds of rock besides extreme metal. If you are into other rock, I'll recommend other interesting things as well. But for now, I noticed you had a Deliverance song recently on your channel. I really think you would appreciate hearing what I think is their best stuff and you can compare what you think to what you already heard.
      I recommend listening to the one I'll link you to. There are different versions of it. This came out in 1987 and was one of the first speed metal songs in Christian music.

    They were ground breaking for their time. Saw them on the "Released upon the earth" tour the guitar player for Deliverance George Ochoa was playing with them at them time. Thier singer Roger Martinez had a falling away of the faith even claiming to be a satanist at one time. He kept the band name and put out some super dark stuff. All the other members went on to start a band called "Die Happy". For some good christian grindcore check out Mortifications album "Scrolls of the Megilloth"

    Ahh yeah. A true classic. Quite controversial at the time, in some church circles even scandalous.
    The first two albums were great, but there was some friction in the group over finances, for one, musical direction as well, and the band essentially gave the name to the vocalist (Roger Martinez) and went on to form Die Happy. Martinez did, I think two more albums then, sadly, becoming decidedly anti-Christian later.
    Still two great albums. Darn near legendary. Glad you liked it.

    • @Metal777
      @Metal777  2 года назад +1

      The band had reformed a few times using names like Die Happy with a Vengeance and Once Dead...and even put out a new album, Visions of Hell. .

    • @dpwellman
      @dpwellman 2 года назад

      @@slamdancer1720 Just about. More strictly, Vengeance was the original name before a rights issue forced a rename. My cassette copy of the first album is Vengeance whereas my CD copy is Vengeance Rising (along with my poster autographed by pastor Bob Beeman, who provided the hand for the iconic cover). Band "sold" the Vengeance Rising name to Martinez, who, of course was not involved in the latter reunion show done under the name "Once Dead" with Scott Waters of Ultimatum on vox.
      Scott and Doug Van Pelt (HM magazine, Lust Control) have written and spoken about that along with the four ex band members on episode 55 of the criminally short-lived Frontline Rewind podcast hosted by Les Carlsen.

      @@dpwellman Yeah I am fortunate to have Vengeance(pre rising) copies on CD and Cassette. Scott Waters was the vocalist for Once Dead for a time, but was replaced I believe it was before the recording of Visions of Hell.
