I know someone from L.A. who knew her and hung out with her for a couple years and didn't even know she was a world-class athlete until she was leaving town for Beijing! She is so humble and amazing. Just a wonderful person. Can you even imagine that? Seeing your friend on TV right after that?! For anyone who doesn't know: she also was the first to go pro right outta h.s. but another cool thing is that she still went to USC later and graduated with an education degree.
my heart broke for Allyson in Beijing and rejoiced in London... just goes to show anything can happen in Athletics no matter how planned a run is... it can go either horribly wrong or surprisingly right... in sports however it is important to smile and keep fighting/going

She wouldn't have been motivated enough to win in London ,as well as run a time of 21.69 at the U.S Trails . The duel between allyson and Campbell was one of the best in the sport . Not forgetting that of ashford vs Gohr
This is at least my 5th time watching this video although I have watched her races repeatedly over the years. Allyson truly has a humble spirit although she has the heart of a champion. I really admire her talent, hard work, perseverance and determination. She has done so much with the gifts God has given her. It's amazing to hear how disappointed she was with winning Silver medals at the Olympics! That is a feat itself and phenomenal but her disappointment just fueled her illustrious career. She will always be the GOAT in my eyes

The 2012 Olympics was her best Olympic performance. 3 Gold medals of which one world record in the women's 4 x 100m. She's out of this world, but still very humble. When she hangs them up, a documentary should be made about her track and field life.
