Love the collaboration with Pai, Collin :) Great to meet you yesterday :)
Hey Colin & Pai, that is a beautiful piece and she will be able to use it for years and years.
Also will be a GREAT memory in that she helped make it.
+Sebastopolmark Thanks for that note ... yes it will be a great memory, never thought of that ... thanks
That is beautiful! Great job.
I had always hear not to use vegetable oil because it could become rancid. Mineral oil is also great for any woodworking projects built for pet safe areas too.
Great video, Colin! It is nice to make friends and share your talents with them!

You ought to let Pai apprentice in the shop... ;)
+KSFWG I would, but she picks things up too quickly ... she'll put me out of a job ;)
You now how to make a pestal and morter❤
Wow 😳 it looks great
😊
Sir,
How are you? what type of wood you have used to make that item? The reason why I ask is because not any type of wood can be use to make one of those because of those wood that we purchase in the hardware store, contain preserver chemical? thanks.
Respectfully; Andy
What was the wood you used Colin ?
+aaronstill He talks about this at about 10:30 :)
I would love to buy that mortar and pestle. How much would like cost? Do you do Paypal?
what is the wood you used for the mortar and pestle?
+dan rhoden (DeerFootDan) He talks about this at about 10:30 :)
Very nice, I think I would have used maple instead of the oak.
+Tverga60 Maybe next time ... I like your thoughts :)
+WoodWorkWeb Colin, I ended up making one out of maple and walnut after my wife saw your video and Pai's. Is it possible for me to post a picture of it here? BTWQ we made the ribs and they turned out fantastic.
Hey Colin, LOL you cooking ??? LOL
Derek
+GiddyUp994 lol, funny ... thats's what my wife said too ... lol ... thanks Derek, well, back to shop now
Hi. Love from Nepal🇳🇵. Which country from u?
Is it safe for food? The oil I mean
You can get food grade mineral oil
how much are you selling one for? ;)
+MegaDreamer1991 I wish I was, it sounds like there is quite a market for these
Can't believe Pai lugged her 15 lb mortar there lol
+SnickSnacks lol ... neither could I ... well, she did have help :)
WoodWorkWeb lol nice
get her to make you som tam with that mortar and pestle. Then finish it off with some kai mod daeng! 5555
+mrquicky Oooo ... sounds like I need to learn more Thai cooking terms, I can do that :)
WoodWorkWeb Kai mod daeng is prepared a variety of ways, but the literal translation is red ant larvae. Quite a lot of Thai, Isaan & Lao food involves insects.
Colin you behaved really well, i think if i was there with that beautiful young women i would have acted like the dirty old man i am. lol
+Tim White Thanks Tim, she's a great gal, fun to work with and always happy
a Pretty girl and She Cooks, Rare Now Days and I see No Ring ;) Canada is so Cold though, She should Come Vacation in Florida
i love the way pai holding that pestle....and playing the tip with finger
