Oh Keeley This is sooooo for me I hear every word I feel every word you have said as it totally makes sence, as I'm waiting to hear from my person whom I saw on holiday with their elderly mother and I feel this too that the mother figure is holding them back from being involved with me, I've had this before where a mother figure was sooooo full of hate and spite for me that I had come in and taken away the only person in that mother figures life, so then the mother figure, made up illnesses, and pretended to be I'll and sick just to keep my partner at home with her, instead of being with me, and I feel this is going to happen again, but I'm going to be there for my person and help them through it, if it means we can be together, as you said my person in the Reading has had enough of their situation.
