3:00 that's THE bassline. Toni and Ozzy get lots of praise but Geezer is down in you gut, right there. And Bill drops the drums to that tight quick paced rumble. Theses guys are amazing.

Black Sabbath is one of the most influential bands of all time they certainly played a big part in my life growing up that's the reason i started playing the drums
I hear that. Yeah, Bill Ward is the shit. If someone said Bonham, Keith Moon, or Bill is why they picked up drums I'd get it. War Pigs is what got me into guitar. That's my favorite rock song. Rhythm is big in music. If it doesnt sound really good the song is boring. Some people play drums in a more melodic way. Like, the way they fill the spaces. They drive the whole song or the song doesn't work. The Beatles didn't have it. All but ten of their songs bore me. Stones had it big. Grateful Dead, Pantera
@@garywilson3042 it was recorded in some haunted castle (cant recall the name atm), the band couldn't come up with any material so they decided it would be a good idea to record there for inspiration
I still remember seeing a documentary about how rock n roll was progressing thru the 60's when the narrator mentioned something about how finally someone became "riff-mongers", LOL, and then he mentioned Black Sabbath. Classic! No one had a sound like these guys, and they weren't writing love songs either :-)
still listening in 2018 to all their music grown up around black sabbath my dad grew up around it and soo will my children grow up around this cause I aint stopping carry this on in yo generations in your family make it known
I like this song because it is heavy then it gets very melodic for black sabbath it 's just a great classic song from black sabbath. for many reasons I like this song and that bass part to.The guitar and drums and the singing it's just an all around great song by black sabbath on my top ten list!
When it starts and you first hear the main riff It's heavy as f_ck But There a faint hope and in it A twirling empathy That envelopes you With safety Strange huh Anyway Great comment Thanks

Same here.lol .I have always Loved Sabbath and OZZY.I Turned 50 this Janunary Past. But I Listen to this all of the time and I will when Iam 90 If Iam still around.///
Toni's guitar is incredible. His sound was unmatched. Amps were just developing the words heavy metal did not exist. 70s rock was deaf rib crunching Sabbath were so loud your eardrums would burst.
As a teenager this helped in setting up my lifesblood 4 the rest of me life ! Brilliant isn't enough ozzy is still ozzy and he'll be remembered very well as the iconic frontman that wealth never changed ! He's loved the world over ,god will have his back I'm certain !
Ozzy loved singing about brains and minds. A lot. Listen to any sabbath song and the lyrics more than likely involve insanity to some degree. I love it.
probably first metal breakdown in history and still fucking heavy to this day
Rusty cage came pretty close to this
Either this or I Want You She's So Heavy
coven was first poser
i read it as mental breakdown instead of metal breakdown. .
Only 12 years between "Johnny B. Goode" and this. My how quickly the world changed!
Try to listen Vanusa - What To Do
Johnny took a hard turn one night. Never looked back
Holy Shit!
Fuck this world
which way

Yes! Honestly, every part of the song is flawless, but that bassline is my absolute favorite part! It's just STUNNINGLY dirty!!!
Never seen the band who the lead
The riff at the beginning ... absolutely stunning.
Did u know that those riffs were plagiaresed from a brazilian song by Vanusa called "what to do" ?
Black Sabbath is one of the most influential bands of all time they certainly played a big part in my life growing up that's the reason i started playing the drums
There is something supernatural with sabbath the lyrics and music not everyone understands or can feel the deeper meaning
@@darrellpennington9825 Supernatural? naa

Sometimes I think I might have been able to write a song or album like this....then I wake up! LoL
STILL an absolute YES IN 2020!!!!
Damn straight
Absolutely. I love Black Sabbath and this song is an absolute FAVORITE!!!
Yeeaahh 😉✌️🎶🎸😎🤙
It will still be a yes in 2060
And 2021
This remains one of the most simple but most powerful vocal melodies ever. Unforgettable!
Ozzy's foghorn voice really shines on this track. 👍🤘🔥
The one dislike is from someone headbanging too hard to hit the right button.
VerdeTibByrdEz Z what about the other 31?
VerdeTibByrdEz Z yea they kept banging there wewes
They are from the bastard people who have crippled you.
Omg !!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Got to be one of the best ever riffs of all time. Thanks Lord Iommi!!!
Oh yeah. That bass line and Ozzy's voice is killer.
Did u know that those riffs were plagiaresed from a brazilian song by Vanusa called "what to do" ?
I remember when my dad put this album on for me and I was at that moment convinced that Black Sabbath was something truly supernatural.
“The people who crippled you, you want to see them burn) couldn’t be more relatable damn
Yeah
I mean the people who bullied +abused me ! I want to just roast them like hell !
@@autisticcaroline2005 I bet but hope you have come past that and is okay now!
possibly the best Sabbath song.
rtnulb possibly the best Sabbath album
great song but i really like war pigs
Yes
My fav album. A national acrobat my fav song.
Possibly the best album in my opinion..this and master of reality..its pretty tough
If you listen hard enough you can hear the medieval castle that this was recorded in.
tom parks bullshit
I can also listen to the castle singing along
Collin Caperton ok mr caperton thanks 4 the music history lesson
tom parks thought this album was recorded in L.A?
@@garywilson3042 it was recorded in some haunted castle (cant recall the name atm), the band couldn't come up with any material so they decided it would be a good idea to record there for inspiration
One of my favorite Sabbath tunes ever....just love that guitar riff!!
Ozzy's bellowing vocals will always be apart of my childhood \m/!!!
That bass riff is so simple but sounds immense. Pure genius from Geezer.
I hope my neighbors like Black Sabbath and i really hope they like my horrid singing along to it
You've just won the internet. Thank you.
The Ccarbiter hmmm. Youd beat thr x factor if you sang any ozzy tune. Your neighnours will sing along when they hear ya

Meu primeiro disco inteiro do Sabbath. Ainda em fita K7. Clássicos não morrem nunca.
That rhythmic guitar is freaking crazy good.
SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH!
The world actually collapsed @3.20.
Tony Iommi just does the most monstrous dirty riffs ever created.
The greatest
Tommy Iommi is a genius. But I would disagree with the word "greatest".
@@kobitadutta1642 should have been clearer, that comment was regarding his riffs specifically
They ruled then, they rule now and they will rule forever

3:30 simply amazing 😂
Really great song by Sabbath
@3:20 there is none heavier. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath RULES
Fuckin A. The hardest of the hard. Every other Hard Rock song prays at the altar of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Demon's Gate by Candlemass is heavier.
Was that even legal for the time?
I'm guessing that you probably haven't heard "the sound of eight hooves" by amon amarth, but yes this is this is pretty heavy
the writ.... or the "Thrill of it all"
This is music
My neighbors liked it so much, they threw a brick threw my window to hear it better
😂😂😂
Still a treat.
Second favourite Ozzie sabbath album besides Vol. 4!
The first line is "You see right through distorted lies"
The bass by geezer butler is fucking awesome !!!!! The old hippie " byrdman 62 "
Oh sabbath bloody sabbath, how I love you forever
hard core heavy metal! and Ozzy? what a voice!
You’re so right ! He’s a genius obviously ; people need to recognize his brilliance and obvious talent !
Toni's guitar is incredible. His sound was unmatched. Amps were just developing the words heavy metal did not exist. 70s rock was deaf rib crunching Sabbath were so loud your eardrums would burst.
Will still be listening to this when im 90 in 2080

The best quartet of them all !
TREMENDOUS

Ozzy loved singing about brains and minds. A lot. Listen to any sabbath song and the lyrics more than likely involve insanity to some degree. I love it.
He sung about it bcuz Geezer would always write about those certain subjects
Geezer loved these subjects, his influence in lyrics even bleeds into Dio era and in Ozzy era he was essentially at the epicenter of lyrics
Adding this to my metal zumba playlist
Awesome tune
All my life with Black Sabbath...
1972: *Black Sabbath playing this song* Satan: "Guys chill bro, chill"
Classic wonderful fantastic Black Sabbath
Love sabbath bloody sabbath album.
4 genius playing music and creating genre
Love this song still listening 2021
Black Sabbath, going hard as always!!
i used to write this song on the desks i sat at in high school
No comments for this masterpiece!
Ozzy is a vocal god... ;)
It's debatable what the first heavy metal song was, but no band had played a greater role in shaping and influencing heavy metal than black sabbath
This must've been terrifying when it dropped xD heavy as hell 🤘
Ah good music finally
It's outro , really rocks!
thanks Givi. it's true says you know who.really think that song is so true.
Ozzy is the man he will never get old
Greatest rhythm guitarist ever
like JIMMY! AND SLASH! AND THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOYS!

My favourite sabbath track.
Sencillamente Universal
I am just amazed...at how child-like he is! want to take his hand and take him home with me! What would Sharon say?
