- South Carolina Head Coach Dawn Staley met with members of the media on Selection Sunday. The Gamecock earned the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and will face the winner of the game between first four participants Sacred Heart & Presbyterian in the first round
I am an Irish ☘️ fan but I have to say, Coach Staley has won my heart. She is a mentor to young women, as well as young athletes in general. She is a great example of a good human being. I enjoy watching her and listening to her words of wisdom - and love her personality & sense of humor. Wishing the Gamcocks a tremendous run in March Madness!!

I just want to say Coach Staley coached one of the best basketball games I've ever seen, men's, women's, NBA, wnba collegiate and she really stirred in me a new appreciation for women playing the sport. I don't care what anyone thinks about that lsu game all I saw was phenomenal basketball. It's was grimey and calculated skill and talent for skill and talent. I'll never forget than game.
Coach, I know you're serious, but some of your responses are hilarious 😂! I feel you though and it's those times that you have to laugh to keep from crying! I can tell you are intimately connected to the "Serenity Prayer." HE didn't bring you guys this far to leave you ❤🙏!

Boy did they ever screw over Iowa with that tough bracket and basically roll out the red carpet for SC to make the F4 by that cupcake bracket they got. They might as well have given them a four round bye. It’s like the NCAAW announcing from a megaphone that “the fix is in!” Wow!!!!
I didn't see this energy last year when we were the number one overall seed, in the toughest bracket. Nobody batted an eyelash. Caitlin or nobody else can't have it easy every single year. The number one overall seed is SUPPOSED to have the easier path. They earned it!! 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
@@oliviarainey3593 Easier? This isn’t easier. This is spoon fed. There’s a huge difference. And yes, ppl did complain last year too, from SC.
@@oliviarainey3593 Personally, I don’t think any team should get a bracket that’s “easier”. The number one seed already guarantees easy high seeded opponents in the first rounds.
@@oliviarainey3593 But I did predict one thing right, that Iowa would be on the same side as USC and UConn. That way they can hope for matchups between Clark and JuJu and possibly if by some miracle UConn gets past the Sweet 16, a JuJu and Bueckers matchup. I would say another rematch between Clark and Bueckers, but I don’t see UConn having a prayer against USC. Remember, it’s all about marketing games anymore for the most viewership. And those matchups will bring in a lot of attention. However, with SC’s weak bracket, they aren’t going to draw that much attention until the Elite 8 where they’ll face either ND or Nebraska.
@@frankiek2269 Now that's very true! I knew it was all about money when they set the bracket up like that. They want to see those matchups that draw the huge check. So I knew it was coming as well.
