    LOL, In addition to being bootleg games, they stole that Mala layout (the menu) from a picture I posted on the build your own arcade controls forum.
    No shifter, no force feedback, games aren't even set up to work properly with the controls. If you're gonna make money off games you haven't licensed, at least add some value by setting everything up properly.

      @@ThiccBoi23 "hardly anyone can" sounds harsh. On the Tube is full of diy retro arcade dudes that build things by themselves (and drive better than our friend Ralph here). I am one of those (exceptI have no time to manage a YT channell). I built a mini arcade cabinet (Mame, 8/16 bit, N64 and PS1) based on an old pc (Pentium 4), a portable console based on a Raspberry PI 3B, and I'm still thinking to convert my gaming pc (AMD FX 8250) into an arcade machine as well (got a steering wheel and two AimTracks, plus I built an arcade 2 player fightstick). All of this having a girlfriend and working in construction.
      I spent for all, 2000 euros circa and and three years (you know, roms conversion, soldering, programming...).
      Definitely more time in building than playing but... it was worth it! Each gaming session with my friends is epic!
      I do not condemn who wants to buy this stuff and have it ready made.

    Try the following for wheel calibration:
    * Run the calibrate program in the operating system or control panel and make sure it is calibrated there.

You see different branding at vendors of the same machine, but's all the same. It's not a bad machine and generally well made (cabinet, art), but the steering wheel is it's weak point, feeling light and not super robust as it goes with real arcade standups, not even taking into account the lack of force feedback. Sometimes the PC board inside has a hard time to emulate the Cruis'n games, the biggest bummer for me personally. Outrun and Sega Rally play spot on - if you can forgive the wide screen and pixilation due to the large screen. (EDIT: bought mine for about 1200 USD, so not that bad all things considered for me)

    Would go well with my Japanese speaking slot machines lol
    I've been looking at a sit down racer from Creative Arcades and they look identical besides artwork to the Prime Arcade sit-down. Trying to figure out if Prime is supplying them since their price is lower or if it's coming from another source.

    Great video Ralph!, I hope you didn't pay $2000 for that, it seems way overpriced for the quality of the wheel, etc. I agree for that price, it should have an amazing steering wheel, and a shifter? It really needs to have force feedback as well. I think you should return this thing and buy a cheap arcade cabinet. Then gut it, put in high quality parts, and then get graphics for Outrun 2006 or another favorite game of yours (maybe Daytona?). I think you could have a true premium racing cab then, and still be around $2K. You could add transducers maybe as well :)

    It looks like the Arcade1Up racing mod you did with the Arcade-One Hyperspin PC from Carlos and the Logitech G29 wheel is a better driving cab than this. When you spend big money on a production cab, you shouldn’t’ have to change anything. But maybe you need to put the G29 wheel and the Arcade-One PC in this Prime Racing cab to bring it to the next level.

  • @BillC-64

    Gives me an idea to add a arcade racing section to my racing simulator rig. For that kind of money you can start with a in expensive racing rig (couple of hundred bucks with seat and cockpit), add G29, monitor and a mini PC, with something like a racing pack of arcade games (you know what am talking about).

    • @RetroRalph
      @RetroRalph  3 года назад

      I’m still planning on making a 2nd video 👍🏻. I’m going to try to do one this week. I recently had a chance to meet the guys over at prime arcades and they were super helpful! You will pay more to buy through them but they will provide support, the ship from the US directly to your door so that’s going to be the difference. I looked into AliExpress and it won’t ship direct to your door. It hits a local “pickup location” but I haven’t had much success with them telling me where exactly the pickup location is. It’s really up to you but after speaking to the prime arcade guys a bit more, they seem to really pride themselves on customer service. So if that’s important to you, I would factor that into where you buy it from.

      Hey bud, thanks for the comment. It's actually running a newer version of the board I featured in this video: ruclips.net/video/Os1CNrhmebs/видео.html I jokingly called it the "burger board"... it's an interesting board, it's using a rather old tech that's locked down for the most part. The menu is very basic (no frills) but you also can't really mess anything up because it's essentially a closed system. It's not perfect and some of the games have emulation issues. A good place to check out would be arcade-one.com he's a super awesome dude who sells Hyperspin set-ups. He has the best hyperspin setup I have ever seen. He could make a custom racing setup for you that would be plug and play with a Logitech G29 wheel. Thanks again for the comment and for watching man!

    • @RetroRalph
      @RetroRalph  3 года назад

      I would NOT recommend it man. Too many issues and it’s a closed system so the ability to fine tune or change things is very limited. It’s a good concept with the wheel alone really kills it. The software emulation has issues and the only fix is really adjusting the wheel manually to compensate. I just can’t recommend it for the money.

      Dam, that’s a shame. Maybe in a future video you could swap out the wheel for a better spec version like you mentioned it should have had in the first place. I don't rule out the coolness of something like this. I might be old fashion, but I really don't like companies making money off of other people's IP. I'm fairly sure they didn't license all the games they have on there. I know their are not the only ones doing it, Pandora's Box have been doing that for years, but still, not a fan. I know a lot of people are building these on their own and for themselves, which is still in a legal grey zone, but at least they're not making a profit of of it. But again, I might be totally wrong about this.
