Howdy! I think it’s easy for world building to bog down the pacing of a story and lore dumps are a red flag in early chapters that everyone’s aware of. For myself, I’ll make a mastersheet that has all the backstory and kingdoms and creatures and whatever else is around or has happened. Then as you’re writing your story, only include in the early chapters the parts that are required for your reader and drip feed it as your characters are also introduced to those things. That way your reader learns and discovers along side your POVs. Even for heavier fantasy and sci-fi books, I’d error on having too little vs too much and add more as it make sense in future drafts
