- We raise Cornish cross meat chickens every year or every other year. We just received our 100 birds. I will talk about how much it costs in feed and the cost of the birds.
About Sweet Briar Farm
We are a small farm located in Central/Northern Michigan. We farm every inch of our 6 acres. We breed Registered Dairy Goats, Dexter Cattle, and Heritage Hogs. Clean healthy food is important to us and we like to produce the majority of our food on the farm and we grow and raise enough to sell to local customers. Producing our own food also means we forage for wild edibles such as mushrooms and tap our maple trees in the spring to make maple syrup. In 2019 we added honeybees to the farm and have had as many as 30 active hives producing honey for us.
Our goats include Nubian goats, Mini Nubians, Fainting Goats, and Nigerian Dwarf goats.
Our Heritage Hogs include: registered Berkshires, Tamworth, Kune Kune, and Hereford.

Looks like you have a very busy, hard day, Mike. A nice hot soak with no interruptions should be in your future.
Maybe some day in the future we may do 100 chickens. That awesome.
This was an awesome video! And it was great that you have you a little helper ❤
Glad you liked it!!
That chicken wire should be attached to the other side of the board

can u keep pigs and broilers at the same farm measuring 50m *50
As long as they are in separate from each other. Pigs would run over broiler chickens and potentially eat them.
Sure wish you explained it better instead of writing it on the screen. So, are you saying it cost you $100 to put 50 birds in the freezer?
Selling half of the birds paid for ours.
225 dollars for chickens, man that way too much their selling price is gotta be pretty good
$2.25 a bird for 100 birds free shipping. I don’t think that’s too bad.
@@SweetBriarFarmMichigan well yeah
@@SweetBriarFarmMichigan Just paid 33 bucks for 10 CornishRocks at TSC, and a dozen Rangers from another hatchery run me almost 40. I'm doing a trial run during the heat of summer to see which broilers I like and get the process down.
@@heavymechanic2 freedom rangers take longer to grow. They have a thinner breast with nice legs and thighs. We like them both. 👍🏼
