- 🟢 Ok, so much happened in this video! First of all... let's take that watercolor pencil off the naughty list! Once I sharpened it and actually let my base coat dry... it worked like a dream! The new stencil from Happy Dotting Company was just perfect too! I cannot wait to make many more mandalas with this new guideline set up. It's different for me to use these stencils but I must admit it's kind of nice to have things fit where they should. I've been eyeballing it for years so this is kind of fun. If you have any questions go ahead and type them in the comments. I'll do my best to answer. I love having my coffee every morning and reading your comments. It's one of my favorite parts of the day!!!

Beautifully done! 💚 Thank you for the tutorial! And for showing the finished piece with resin 🙂💚
Welcome Vanessa! I’m super stoked that you found my channel. It’s really nice of you to give me some feedback… I really appreciate it. I’ve got another festive beauty coming out within the hour. Hope to see you around 💚🍀💚🍀💚
Thank you, JaDel, appreciate your advice. I had an idea that I'll be trying this afternoon. Maybe after the basecoat, apply some sealer, let dry, as you suggested, mark with chalk or watercolor. It might come off more easily and, as a plus, maybe the paint would go on easier also! We'll see and will let you know. Thank you again
Les couleurs sont magnifique. Ce galet est plus beau qu’une émeraude ! 👏👏👏
Thank you ♥️ 💚💚💚
Beautiful rock for the season 😍
I always think of you when I’m doing green rocks this time of year because of the Irish feel. 💚💚💚

Love this!
Green! Lol.. it was a favorite for sure. Thank you so much for leaving me a comment Karen.. I really do appreciate it. Thank you ♥️
Love it
Awwww thanks Connie ♥️
JaDel, your advice was invaluable and enabled me to make a some nice mandalas, which I will be hiding in our neighborhood this week. I really appreciate you. BTW, chalk on a sealed rock did not work for me. The chalk did not stick to the sealant. 💚
Awesome! I don’t think watercolor pencil will stick to sealant either. If I don’t want all the drying time I will just use a pencil and paint over my leftover marks. I’m so glad you’re hiding rocks…. I’ve saved several of the kindness rocks to hide on my adventures this summer. I really had fun with that last summer.
This is awesome!!!!!!
Thank you Laura… it means a lot to me that you took a little time to send me some good vibes… you ROCK 💚💚💚
@@JaDeLRocks I really love your videos I just started and while amazing the process seems so intimidating and your videos make it entertaining to watch, inspiring, and encouraging like I can actually make something so technical! So thank you! Keep on rocking! 😊
@@laurashields3241 that’s so cool! Ya know…. I really mean it when I say “if I can do it anyone can!” I had no training…. I just thought it all looked cool and fun. So I bought some tools and began dotting and painting. So much of this is learned by just doing! Take away all the intimidation by thinking: it’s just a rock and some inexpensive paint! Even if it comes out horrid I can wash it off and celebrate the practice sesh! 🤣🤣🤣. Weirdest part is that even when you think your Art is total garbage… someone out there is going to love it! But nothing is more fun than when you get giddy about your own creation! I just painted a rock for a video on the 27th… I can’t quit looking at it! I’m over the moon. We are our own worst critics sometimes so it’s a strange feeling when you literally love your own work so I say strive for that feeling! 🤗
So beautiful! Like a pot of gold! I was wondering your process for packaging up rocks to mail. I made my sister a rock and I wasn't sure what packaging to use to send it and held my breath until it got there. I heard somewhere that if you use bubble wrap on resined pieces, the bubble wrap will leave marks in the resin. Good idea about using a white watercolor pencil! TFS!
If you look on my Facebook page I always photograph the rocks I sell. Most pics include the thank you bag I use. It’s mesh something? I then put in bubble wrap and then a bubble wrap mailer. If it’s a homemade large stone it must go in a box… smaller ones can take a bubble mailer but I include extra bubble wrap just in case. Maybe I’ll do a short video on how I mail rocks 👍🏻
My personal Facebook is Ja Del
ALWAYS wrap you painted project in parchment paper !!!
Nothing, I mean nothing sticks to that stuff, not even tape. So you will tie with string or wrap over parchment paper with your preferred materials (wrapping paper, silky/mesh bags, etc) !!!
I learned this trick from another painter whose artwork was stuck to the tissue paper gift wrap.
You work so hard on your project and you want your gift recipient to enjoy its' full beauty.
Happy creating !!! 💜💜💜
You’re not wrong… nothing sticks to that stuff 😂😂😂. I think the key is letting the resin dry for like ever before shipping 😂.
So so so beautiful!!! I absolutely love love love it!!!! 😍💗😍💗😍💗 You do such amazing work!!! I have a question..if I were to do this rock..(obv not NEARLY AS WELL..it will look way messed up) and give it to my mom for st Patrick's day is that ok. I'd never ever sell any rocks that I made from your patterns, of course. But I just wanted to ask if it was ok?this one is so beautiful! I'd love to try it and give it to her. I think she would love it. 🙏💗
Holy smokes yes! I want you to do that! That’s what this channel is for! And let me tell you… you’re welcome to gift out lots of things like address books, journals, keychains, magnets, canvas, jewelry boxes, necklaces, etc…. You could take a mandala like this one and put it on so many things to make wonderful inexpensive gifts that come from the heart! Good luck. If it turns out tag me or send me a pic on Facebook… I love seeing you guys’ Art! I post them on the community page and on my website. ♥️🤗🤗🤗
@@JaDeLRocks You are absolutely the sweetest! I would love to have a friend like you IRL! You are such an amazing person!! 🤗❤️ Thank you so much!! I'll give it a go and if it turns out I will show you. I'm so excited to try!! Your work is amazing!!! 🤗💗😍
@@cdaisy602 you’ve totally got a friend like me now 🤗. Good luck 💚💚💚
Absolutely love this. Wish my swooshes looked as good as yours!! Trying to find the Emerald Extreme Glitter. Seems it is extremely expensive or just not in stock. Even went to Folk Art website and they don't have it unless its in the package deal. Do you have any ideas on where I might find it?
I picked mine up in store at Walmart 👍🏻 cheap! I think it was like $2. Check online and in your nearest store. If you can’t get it maybe I could run get you some at Walmart and toss in my eBay store for you to buy… same price. I think shipping from me to you would run about 3 bucks if you’re in US. Let me know.. everyone needs glitter and I just can’t stand those high prices they offer online.
@@JaDeLRocks Thanks. I will have to look at Walmart here. They claim they didn't have it, but they say that A LOT here. LOL. I will let you know. Thanks again.
@@leigh335 lol… my Walmart does that too. Let me know. I don’t mind picking you up a bottle. It’s like 1.97 + tax and shipping. I wouldn’t think shipping would be too much on a little bottle like that.
Question please, I really like the registration marks made by the chalk. How do I remove them, especially from the detailed interior of the dots? I'm afraid if I use a small (really small) amount of water on a tiny brush, the dried paint will be removed also. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance
I’m not positive about chalk. I’m using watercolor pencil.. however: I’m learning that if I let the base coat dry for a day or two that the water doesn’t remove it. This one dried overnight and I could tell it needed the other 12 hours. Now.. at the end I wait at least 24 hours. So far so good. I think you’re ok as long as you let it cure. I’m learning but so far that what I’m finding.
Ohhhh. And I’m being super gentle with the rubbing.
