Great analysis! I've been doing a similar breakdown, then I found this video. I was wary of subscriptions, but quickly decided that it's an overwhelming "YES" in this case, especially in comparison with other DAWs /subscriptions.
I got a discount on the first year of Sphere with the Studio 24c interface. I have barely scratched the surface but it is well worth the extra plug-ins that come with it.
Yeah. I guess it depends on how you usually buy Studio One. If someone puts it on a credit card and makes $25 payments every month, instead of that you could just subscribe and save the CC payment. The price for subscribing vs buying is broken down in detail towards the end of the video, and Sphere is on-par with just buying Studio One outright. Of course you have to consider subscribing vs owning a version. Since I normally upgrade when a new version is out, Sphere makes more sense for now. It all depends on what works for you. 👍
Upgrade every other year or major release As I see fit. Just getting started 4 yr ago had been had with all DAWs till PS1. Very helpful indeed. Lots of things have happened SINCE I bought PS1 in 2016 such as Fender buying PS1 in part, WAVES pooping on lifers and Protools poo over lifers as well. To be Continued . . .Thanks

However V6 left me wanting for more creation related tools and less mix/master tools so I decided to wait. I surely don't wanna work with a DAW that is 10 years old, just because I am going to save some bucks all the while struggling with upgraded OS compatibility or missing out on cutting edge features. All the added vintage simulation plugins will save you on having to upgrade a certain company's (name sounds like something from the ocean) third party plugins as well. By the way... A 'smart open hand mentality' allows for money to go out as as well as come in. One last thing: PreSonus is really trying their best (and succeeding) to make an all round easy to use fully functional, beautiful looking product. Some DAW companies (name sounds like a surname or they need to add pro to their title for validation) are so set in their ways, you can't tell them nothing cause they know best. I want a DAW which I can use start to end. The better your familiarity with one tool the more you can focus on the creative end result.
I switched to studio one after years of working with ableton, because feature wise it is night and day compared to other daws on the market, just Macros alone worth it already

I guess it depends on what you mean by "everything they offer". You can buy third-party plugins in the PreSonus Shop (ujam, Positive Grid BIAS, etc...) and those are of course NOT included. I don’t know know of any other DAW (talking about Studio One Professional here) that holds back some of it’s most cutting edge features like this for a price. What a disappointment. Would have been far better if they had charged more and offered everything bundled in.
Reason does it also. A lot of the Player Devices you have to pay for on top of purchasing the software, whereas they are included in the subscription. Even more disappointing in Reason is that some of the content like additional chord progressions for instance, aren't included in the full software purchase and you CAN'T buy them as an add on to the full version. They're only available with the subscription.

It just SUCKS big time.. they say its like 14€ per month and than its an extra 4€ TAX..wtf .. and only you can pay via credit card or paypal .. wel most European people DONT have credit cards.. we only buy stuf if we have the money in the bank .. and paypal sucks to cause scammers wil take your money if you have to connect your bank acount to it.. GO IDEAL PRESONUS wats wrong with that ????
