I'm glad you enjoyed the interview! He's one of my personal favourite musicians out there right now, so was special for me to do this one! If you enjoyed that you might be interested in the one I did with Billy Sheehan last week! :) - ruclips.net/video/mJTNTR_Pf4M/видео.html
He’s such an amazing vocalist, too. I’m so happy to hear his songwriting, too. He’s really flourished as a well-rounded artist with so much experience in a variety of genres - instrumental, prog-like, funk, ballads, hard rock - I love all of it ❤️🤘🎸 Been a fan since 1989!
Kotzen does Jazz... I truly love this but it was not what I expected. I assume it levels out with the new Smith/Kotzen stuff which is apparently forthcoming. go, Richie!!
I luv his clean tones for their melodic flow too ♥️🎵💯 Seems to me that more pedals & gimmicks is not as appealing. Give me RK & his clean Tele over Flying V’s & distortion any day!
Two of the best! ❤ Actually I don’t think I could deal with both at the same time, I feel like it would cause some sort of rupture in the space time continuum or something 😂
always a fine artist, and your debut album is still a brilliant album, in fact better today than even was at the time, creative and interesting. Ironic that in the end you didn't want to do what you did really well, i.e. instrumentals. Perhaps the culprit is also the ignorant armchair w******rs who listen to a guitarist playing 'fast' and they go 'oh I get it, he's ripping off Malmsteen', such as these fools from Allmusic etc. Whatevery you do, I am sure it's going to be good.
@@drop830 what makes you think that? I appreciate that you probably haven’t watched as many hundreds of hours worth of interviews with him as I have, so I’d say I know a lot more about him than the casual fan would, but I find him to be incredibly open about any topic he’s ever been asked about by an interviewer. He doesn’t deflect, for example, as you will notice with someone like Dave Grohl, he gives straight answers and adds a lot of personal detail that you don’t get from typical ‘rock stars’.
@@JojoFryrocks it's in his eyes, and the way he talks. He give off a vibe, for me anyway. He's phenomenal musician, maybe that's it. Maybe he has that thing where he thinks he isn't good enough, and everyone is going to find out one day. Idk, he always given me that vibe, even in the early days with Poison
@@drop830 I don’t know, he’s always been pretty self assured. He had a record deal at the age of 19, he knew he was a talented player. That’s why they wanted him in Poison. The only tensions he’s really spoken about in his career have been with record labels wanting to pigeon-hole him as a ‘shred’ guy but he’s always been more of a soul/jazz fusion/RnB artist at heart. He’s walked away from major contracts which could have been very lucrative just because he didn’t want to do the kind of stuff they wanted from him. To me that is a perfect example of artistic integrity.
Richie is one of the best rock singer/songwriter/guitarists of all time.
World's greatest solo artist you've never heard of!
Really like this guy and his work.....i saw winery dogs and realised , thankfully that there are still some real people and artists in music
Thank you for interviewing Richie 🙏 He’s my favorite prolific artist & is so well spoken. I can’t wait to experience his trio next month!!!!

“Stars” was the first Winery Dogs song I ever heard because I just found them last year and had to have it on repeat I luvved it so much 🥰
Such incredible talent, yet so humble.
Jerry Cantrell and Richie would sound amazing together.

“Are you a guitar player?” I’ve been playing for 40 years but if Richie Kotzen asked me that question, I’d have to answer; compared to you? No.
Great vid . Really enjoyed the interview ... Thanks CAMCURSE
thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

There is just something about Kotzen that is off for me.
What do you mean ‘off’?
@@JojoFryrocks idk it seems like he's got a deep dark secret he's not telling anyone.
