The area near the white bullets spawner is a safe-spot against white bullets from it, and I took advantage of it. I don't know if that is intentionally designed, though.
There are small gaps between crates in the chapter 2, so with careful adjustment we can go through them. This feature is not limited to Steam version but common in all platforms.
