Here is my two cents, I have had mostly good interactions with police but i also know my story doesn’t speak for everyone. DL has some good points here but I am determined not to treat every encounter with police as if I’m going to die. Also in our communities I’ve more more negative interactions with our own people than I’ve had with the police. Simply put, both sides could use some work.

Sad, but not exactly different, when there's mass indifference to millions of cows, calves and bulls slaughtered every day so people can enjoy dead animals as their meal. Come on guys! WHEN ARE WE GOING TO TAKE THE BLINDFOLD off and protect all creatures. And btw, the violence animals feel goes directly into the food you eat.
When you don't have a second thought for animal violence, you can understand why human life is taken soooooooooo cheaply.

Legislation, meditation, contemplation, deliberation......no other species can do these types of things that those in human form can. Sure we can go through life eating, sleeping, mating and defending like the animals do. There's no big difference, right? So actually why, then, do humans kill animals for food? We haven't got the best natural ability to hunt and kill like a savage tiger or lion. We have ability to grow a garden or pick fruits and vegetables or harvest grains.
And we tend to examine our existence, and think and use our intellectual gifts to figure out why we live, who we are, is there a way to be peaceful, happy, have good relationship with the Lord, create music, write books, paint, and have a life that is not just based on the flesh, but on the spiritual realm. That's why we are human.
Don't waste these gifts on living like the animals do. It's not going to bring peace or happiness.

"Humanity on display", is a good realization, for sure.
Just like pets on display, but how in the world can cows and bulls not be in the same category? How can we blindly murder the cow and bull, and at the same breath pay so much hard earned money to indulge cats and dogs.
So humans need to be humans for real, and that means compassion for humanity and for animals. Humans can have intelligent interactions with each other and with God. Humans can make choices, good or evil. Humans can live in such a way as to develop spiritual awareness. I think when we treat animals of all species with dignity, and see that the food on our plate is karma free, and brutal violence- free, our peaceful life will gradually be coming.
Things don't happen overnight. But if they're going to happen, we need to take a look at our choices. The violent murder of innocent animals is directly correlated, my friends, to violence in human behavior.
