It’s when folks say just comply & you won’t b abused... I grew up seeing officers stop /frisk people (you fit blank description) asked ID.
Individual goes for wallet & the officers grabbed his arm or slammed them into a wall because they moved to fast.

I appreciate DL mentioning this I have a 26 year old son who has Aspergers Syndrome, he is for the most part very independent but he also needs our support. I often have conversations with him about this very subject. He lives on his own little townhouse in a very nice neighborhood the neighbors know him very well, but I have to remind him to never take his trash out or check his mailbox after dark and he is like why, then I have to explain to him that he could possibly be accosted by the police and possibly end up severely hurt or dead. It is very sad that we have to have these conversations, but that is the reality in which we live.

Here is my two cents, I have had mostly good interactions with police but i also know my story doesn’t speak for everyone. DL has some good points here but I am determined not to treat every encounter with police as if I’m going to die. Also in our communities I’ve more more negative interactions with our own people than I’ve had with the police. Simply put, both sides could use some work.
From my perspective, DL Hugley is a hilarious, comedic, politically and socially cognizant comedian. To address the police diabolical inhumane system is salient particularly in this Trump' s racist epoch. I am going to purchase this book. Hugley tells the TRUTH!

Sad, but not exactly different, when there's mass indifference to millions of cows, calves and bulls slaughtered every day so people can enjoy dead animals as their meal. Come on guys! WHEN ARE WE GOING TO TAKE THE BLINDFOLD off and protect all creatures. And btw, the violence animals feel goes directly into the food you eat.

I am an old white woman who lived in L. A. and was a cop during some of the roughest times. But at the beginning
I was told always be firm but fair. I lived by that advise for the next 21 years and had minimal problems dealing
with every type of person. Times have changed some and I attribute the latest disrespect and incivility to the
attitude of the man a few people voted for and is in the W.H. now. During the time Obama was quietly running
the country people were treaty with dignity and respect. Since that has changed people with anger and
hatred seem to feel that they can get away with saying and doing whatever they want. This is showing in both
women on pool watching duty and a few cops. As long as you have a man in the highest office in the nation
acting like a spoiled nasty three year old calling people names and embarrassing our country around the
world this attitude is going to filter down to the less intelligent people on the streets. I thank D. L. Hughley
for his new book and bringing these problems to the forefront. Already downloaded from Audible and ready to enjoy.

Legislation, meditation, contemplation, deliberation......no other species can do these types of things that those in human form can. Sure we can go through life eating, sleeping, mating and defending like the animals do. There's no big difference, right? So actually why, then, do humans kill animals for food? We haven't got the best natural ability to hunt and kill like a savage tiger or lion. We have ability to grow a garden or pick fruits and vegetables or harvest grains.
And we tend to examine our existence, and think and use our intellectual gifts to figure out why we live, who we are, is there a way to be peaceful, happy, have good relationship with the Lord, create music, write books, paint, and have a life that is not just based on the flesh, but on the spiritual realm. That's why we are human.
Don't waste these gifts on living like the animals do. It's not going to bring peace or happiness.
