One thing that I like about ROHOG is the lack of live audience. Osman understands that his real audience is the one he often addresses looking into the camera - the TV viewer. I'm an American, and not all that into pop-culture, so sometimes I haven't a clue. But they fairly often have questions which are very US centered. In any case, I don't miss a show! This for fun and variety (20 different games each week with Answer Smash always last game) and Jeopardy for hard-core quizzing are the two game shows I will not miss! My absolute favorites. BTW, Yes, Ed Gamble won this week going away.
When I lived with my parents this was the game show we all got together to watch on a Friday night. It's a comfort zone for me, and a huge part of the fun is watching it with your family and playing along with them. Though I guess that's true with any game show, really. Still, love this show and happy to see you giving it a go.
I love HoG, just the right relaxed vibe to counter the depressing Evening News on BBC1. I love it later in the week when they get really competitive over silly games, but in the end standup comedians nearly always win. My favourite rounds have to be I'm Terrible At Dating and Where Is Kazakstan, mainly because I am so much better at them than almost all of the celeb contestants. I don't think there is a live audience but the applause comes from the production crew.
Ed Gamble is touring at the moment, he's way funnier than I was expecting, we were in tears laughing. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone who hasn't seen him live.
I watch House Of Games all the time, and I was puzzled by the small sound of the audience as well. I think the BBC have mostly smaller studios and theatres, which make for more intimate shows. This is a daytime show and I think they are possibly using fewer mics for the audience, not sure. I often find myself wanting to hear the laughter. Nevertheless, I love the show.
I enjoy this show but some of the rounds are quite tedious. Things like distinctly average amount to guess work and I don't like that in quiz/game shows. I've always enjoyed pure knowledge shows like 15 to one a lot more
I love distinctly average. You can use logical reasoning to get close. The only round I dont like is Answer Smash. You can fail at the rest and still make up all the points there.
I only like the rounds "Distinctly average" and "I'm terrible at dating". I watch the show on iPlayer so I can fast forward looking for those rounds and to hell with the rest. If I'm really lucky, both those rounds will be on Monday's episode and I can take the rest of the week off! 😅
@@TheOrlandoTrustfull What I like about it is seeing how far off people's guesses are, like guessing Hadrian's Wall was built in 1953, or that the M25 is 20,000 miles long. 😅

Just had a "hair length confusion" moment 🤣.

He is not only in Bottom, he also plays Vivian in The Young Ones
The audience is the crew filming the show.
Watch this every evening without fail. New series just started too!
There isnt an audience. The clapping comes from the set crew. Its quite common on quiz shows.
As I remember Ade Edmondson won a few of the days later in the week.

Where Is Kazakstan is also my fave for the same reason.
I like those and Distinctly Average. It's just so interesting to see how bad people's guesses are.

Still laughing at you referring to Vyvyan Basterd as "old man" .
Me too, actually I was slightly miffed. Ade is a legend. Still amazed that he seems so nice and warm, but has the ability to act like Vyv and Eddie H😊
I 've been a fan of this show since it began. I'd be more than happy to watch more with you.
Just to clarify, your guess of 25,000 cm for the sandcastle is 250 meters. The only reason you get away with that is Kate going for several miles. :)
One of my favourite game shows 🙌💗 xx
I love that you got caught up in it, as is easy to do with this amazing game show. :)

There isn't an audience at all jan. The laughter you can hear sometimes is just the studio production team.
I've just seen Richard's replacement on Pointless (I think her name is Sally Lindsay).
Not quite the same.
@@140cabins I see. She seems to get herself onto many different shows!
@@140cabins I think Ed Gamble is one of them.
Knowing the BBC they'll replace Richard Osman with Paddy McGuiness soon. 😑
The audience isn't real, though they made some primetime specials with a real audience and games the audience take part in
I’d like to see you react to a Most Haunted episode with Derek Acorah. Be fitting with the time of year 😄
No, he's mainly from ';The Young Ones'. A must watch. Very enjoyable show, though it depends on the quality of contestants.
Shame this one doesn’t have the best daily prize, the wheely suitcase
Ed gamble did win the week he won 4 out of 5 days. Daytime shows in the UK rarely have an audience it's usually just canned clapping
Taffe could you do a reaction to Jonah from tonga? Its an Australian sitcom I think you'd like it
George Michael's soothing 'Ballad of Ted Bundy' didn't chart.

Hello, I’ve already said this. But, can you do the reaction video of you watching ‘Surprise, Surprise!’?

@@Ozzpot Or a sandcastle could be 2 miles high
@@MeFreeBee Lol yup
Kate Thornton used to be on the telly all the time 15 years ago ....... not so much these days
Game shows are dull as dishwater, but Noah Taffe can make anything watchable.
