Why would anyone be scared of saying that Auschwitz was German camp? I mean, have you ever heard anyone saying that Poles killed 6 mln jews? He was the first to tell to the west nations about what's going on in the camp, but nobody wanted to listen. Really big hero but because of Soviet occupation after the war he was killed by them. It is important to mention is as I see that your comment indicates 1 ethnic group which traditionally wants everybody to see its suffering as something what made them very special since WW2. Go to visit campsites of real mass killings like Chełmno nad Nerem, Treblinka, Sobibór, Belzec.
My nan was 2.5 years in Auschwitz and she managed to hide her baby daughter (my auntie) when the Germans came and took her to Auschwitz. After 2.5 years in Auschwitz she was moved to other German concentration camp in Bergen where she was liberated by US troops and offered to go US permanently but she declined as she left her daughter in Poland. She never wanted to talk about what she went through in Auschwitz, but only once she made exemption and told me a bit. But I won't share it as isn't nice to write about. I remember her shaky hands all the time😐

Imagine getting there with all your belongings just in one suitcase. Then this suitcase is taken from you and then they take your life. Unimaginable especially when you think that these people lived in big vibrant prewar cities like Warsaw and they were often doctors, lawyers, pianists... just like us.
My dad worked for Republic/LTV Steel in Cleveland for 29 years. One of his co-workers was born in Auschwitz, in 1945. He and his mother ended up in a displaced persons camp and subsequently emigrated to Ohio.
The most important thread in the history of Auschwitz is rarely mentioned. It is about Father Kolbe, a Polish Catholic priest who, at his own request, went to death by starvation for a stranger to him. With this act he made the Nazis aware that they were animals and not us Poles, as they believed. The prisoners divided the history of Auschwitz before and after Father Kolbe. The Germans never sentenced anyone to starvation afterwards.
When I was in the secondary school, In the senior class teachers took students on a school educational trip to Auschwitz. Always in January to feel freeze in our body, to more understand it. Now I am 22 years old, my mum has there in the same way as me, at the same age, at the same month. Majority of schools in the Małopolska/the Lesser Poland has this custom. After 7 years I still remember it very well, my mum after 30 years also.
We did exactly same road last year. From Gdansk to Cracow. We also visited Wieliczka . Took my 12 years old son do Auschwitz. Before the visit I prepared him as much as I could. It was very important for him and I to go there.
There was one Priest who replayce by his own will one man who was designated to be executed his name was Maksymilian Maria Kolbe. This story is well documented and it is very known well in Poland.
Every time I've visited Auschwitz, I've always used the local service bus. 14pln each way in about 1hr 40min, and stops in the museum carpark. It runs about every hour and are modern 52 seater coaches.

I've been there twice and it is a very depressing place. On my second visit I led a group of rowdy teenagers from Texas and after the tour the biggest 'joker' of the group came up to me and asked me "Have you been here before?. I said yes and he said "I am sorry that because of me you had to come again". This place changes people hopefully not for a minute.
Another great vlog from Auschwitz i was there with a friend about 25 years ago still such a sad place to go to but its a must go and see to show the world this sort of thing never happens again.Years ago we spent 3 nights in a nunnery at Auschwitz we had free breakfast and gave them a large donation for a lovely room and nice food and breakfast.But walking around Auschwitz was emotional me and my friend did not say much to each other in for 2 days.we arrived there by night / early morning train to make it more authenic.Its always been a place i talk about with other friends or travellers but its so sad and depressing.It does not seem too much changed there so thankful to see your vlog brings back alot of memories.Thanks
I went there when I was an adult man I and cried like a baby there when I saw all these tous and piles of shoes and glasses... and stories how babies was treaten...in my opinion this is the cumulation of human hate. All who are angry and full of hate should go there and see what human can do to human.
Its because you never heard and never seen concentration camps in Syberia (Russia) where also many Poles died but this is history that countries which won the war don't like cause they fought on the same side. Its like to fight together with Hitler. You can also find out about "great hunger" in Ukraine.

I just started using the canned fix-a-flat on my bikes. I'm thinking about using it on my Vehicle Tires as well. The way to use it is before getting a flat. You let all the Air out of the Tire then put the Fix-A-Flat in so if your tire is punchered the fix-a-flat seals the tire before it gets a chance to go flat. The tire repair men hat the stuff so put a Tube in your Tubeless tires before putting it in.
Thank God for the flat tyre incident which you both handled like Pros💪💪 because I started going into my little world of sadness and helplessness after seeing Auschwitz scenes😢

Thank you for this video guys. Aushvitz is not easy place to visit, I went there when I was a teenager yet. After that I had big depression few days, but don't worry it will pass. You have vistited so many beautiful places, so this one could be a something different. A word 'terrible' is a good description, I would like to hear your opinion or impression but maybe is too much. Hopeful you have enjoyed other places in my beautiful country, good job with a tyre.
Visited Auschwitz in the late 80’ies. I don’t think i had realised the potential for human evil before I walked through those gates. Now, more than 30 years later I still have some very disturbing images in my head from that visit. Let i NEVER happen again!
A freat fresh up from Auschwitz. I'm surprised you eat so much burgers when the Polish food is so delicious - you can even eat a lot of game in small bistroes along the big roads ( or could a few years back - and the food was very cheap )
Free roads in Poland are also decent. You just had back luck after you left a paid road when you drove on a bad road. Actually Poland has a network of fast roads (droga ekspresowa) that are comparable to paid highways that are completely free. These roads were built in the last 10 years and are still being developed and are of very good quality.

I watched every video in RUclips I could find about that War and other Wars as well. I think I found the answer to what Germany was thinking that caused them to do such an extermination of a People as this. It was also a big question in Social Studies in High School of what would cause this. I found the answer in a Book I found in a Library years ago. I don't think I should tell you though.

Unfortunately this was not the last genocide that the world has seen. Most notably there was a mass genocide in central Africa in Chad. My 74 year old memory is failing me, but I think this was sometime in the last 20 years. There was genocide in the Balkans in the 1990's as well. At least in this case other countries responded. In central Africa the world tried to deny it.
That was very sad what happened there. A lot of history and hopefully will never ever happen again Graeme, get a spare tire !! that should have been the first thing you made sure that car had before even setting out in it. Also, make sure you re torque the lug nuts to make sure they are secure and you two don't have the tire fall off while driving.
Considering you're in a strange foreign country where apparently not many locals speak English, you handled it really well. Also this goes to show that carrying a spare and a car jack in the boot goes a long way.
When we was young that place looks completely dyferent now someone changed that place for some reasons ??? Now the video which you show look's like 5 star hotel not like Auschwitz which we remember
i lived somewhere near 10km from auschwitz and i remember when my great grandfather told us something like ,,we understand and knew how horrible things happen there and we can't do anything about it but still fell guilty for ourinaction"it's interesting because in 1944 he was just 20 and don't do anything to this people but he take part of the responsible for that

Having been to auschwitz a couple of weeks ago, why you thought it was appropriate to pose for a photo on the tracks to the death camp, I really don’t know…
I feel like that every carmaker has stopped putting spare ties into cars now. The thing is after talking to people there are VERY few who know how to change a tire. Just call AAA is the norm. It is what it is

To anybody visiting KL Auschwitz if you ever see anybody being inappropriate please have the courage to confront them and tell them to stop or leave. For years there have been tourists that treat it like an amusement park. Couples kissing, making happy selfies, children roaming around, even making scribbles on the walls. As a decent human being feel obligated to intervene. This is a cementary and a memorial of the factory of death.

I did that once. When I needed new tires, I found out the fix-a-flat had rusted the inside of my wheels.

i lived somewhere near 10km from auschwitz and i remember when my great grandfather told us something like ,,we understand and knew how horrible things happen there and we can't do anything about it but still fell guilty for ourinaction"it's interesting because in 1944 he was just 20 and don't do anything to this people but he take part of the responsible for that

To anybody visiting KL Auschwitz if you ever see anybody being inappropriate please have the courage to confront them and tell them to stop or leave. For years there have been tourists that treat it like an amusement park. Couples kissing, making happy selfies, children roaming around, even making scribbles on the walls. As a decent human being feel obligated to intervene. This is a cementary and a memorial of the factory of death.
