wonderful! a precious little slice of American cultural history. Del Reeves was quite the entertainer.....witty and original and not nearly as shy as Loretta was early on in her career, as this video reveals. would be great if the original broadcast dates were indicated. thanks for sharing!
I love this song it will never grow old you can just imagine the hot old cotton fields back home when a man truly work for a living no time for play hard work ahead there singing is just magical god given talent for sure thanks god bless
I remember watching this show with my mom. I never had the nerve to tell anyone I had crush on one of brothers 😀 this is where I first heard Loretta lynn
Jason, are you a son or grandson to Teddy or Doyle? I’ve always loved the harmony singing and blend that the Wilburn Bros had and got to meet them back stage at the Grand Ole Opry many years ago. Thank you for putting this syndicated TV show on RUclips for folks to enjoy. The Sat afternoon Country Music Shows were a part of my life as a kid growing up in the 60s, and each of them inspired me as a musician and singer for the future and I’m blessed to still be working. I loved Harold Morrison and of course Loretta and all of the special guests they had.
Notes I am reading from country music aficianado, Shannon Burns points out Don Helms is on steel guitar. He and the Wilburns formed the Wil-Helm publishing company in Nashville.
My God Don Helms was on fire on the hymn selection. Loretta had a voice just excruciatingly great showcased in harmony.
Thanks for posting. Nothing like true country music as it was in the 1940s, 50s and 60s Some in the 70s🙏💕🕊🇨🇦

The legendary Jimmy Capps played the lead guitar 🎸 with the Wilburn Brothers band for many years

Teddy and Doyle are the best harmony in Country music. They do not get the credit they deserve for sure.
👍
The banjo picking made this song!!
RIP Loretta. :(
1967?
What the folks today don't know what the real deal is
