Thanks for the review, I’m a mid-late 20s Kuwaiti guy (from GCC) and personally I love the moon, promise, and the night. They are super special and I think the reason that why I love them is that I used to wear them for Weekends nights during Christmas in London and New York (Nov2019 to Jan2020), I agree with you Aaron, these are too special and strong to be worn continuously, that’s why my bottles of these 3 are still full. In my opinion they are a freezing weather gems (because I’m living in London most of the year). I love watching you and your videos, you are the best.
I agree with you about 70% on this. what I find amazing is that you absolutely understand how I did not find this perfume endearing at fist encounter, but I did come back to it about a year later, and found that I simply could not stop sniffing myself. I do not find any bitterness here, but rather find a light and bright caramelly sweetness with the berries, and a tinge of bleu-cheesiness as well - all married to the moderately soft oud note by the amber and sandalwood. this perfume is easily one of the most unique and most treasured in my collection. thank you for your thoughts, Aaron!
Sometimes we pay a bit to much for a perfume and we force ourselfs to make scens off it by imagening notes and giving it more depth, i 100% agree w Aron on this one Its so well made but Its not that Great tbh
I've tried The Night and have decants of The Moon and Promise. Promise is my favourite (it's pretty amazing imo) and coincidentally is also the cheapest. The Night is insane! It's soooo strong that it's actually quite an experience. The opening to me was foul and reminded me of manure but somehow I couldn't stop smelling it! The dry down is beautiful Oud and Rose and does last forever. I would love a bottle of the Promise but waiting for an amazing deal
@@bchvacservices for Aaron best for now is Carnal Flower which i didn't smell yet....but you're right guys out of these Promise is the best (even if you put Musk Ravageur along with it)....BUT for me....until now....i like French Lover the most 🤷
Great review Aaron , nice to see a review from somebody who knows what he is talking about . That is a lot of money to spend so I would expect a sample . I find some of these niche houses very elitist expensive doesn’t always mean better .
I love this fragrance. I tried Promise first and was told to try this if I liked Promise, as it has a similar feel. To me this is so much better than Promise, the raspberry and lychee are beautiful and realistic, and the smokiness makes me feel like I’m sat in a shisha bar. I’m lucky as on my skin the oud isn’t so barnyard-y. I wouldn’t buy a full bottle just because it’s not super wearable - but a 10ml decant has done me just fine
I agree that a perfume should be worn and not just left for special occasions and that it should also be palatable! I hate unpalatable scents. There can be uniqueness but it should be pleasant in some way.
Nice review Aaron. It's rare when an oud fragrance wows me. But there have been some. Would love to see you review the house of Widian. They sell a little discovery set for their black collection. Great stuff in my opinion.
I took one whiff of this and knew I had to have it. I gasped at the price tag but knew it was one I would not use frequently, so I opted for the small one. You are correct Aaron; it's overpriced! I've been watching you and exploring enough to know we have two completely different olfactory experiences and/or tastes. I loved watching this after making the purchase and falling in love with the fragrance. Your insight is incredibly valuable to me, even if we walk our own paths.
In the next few days I want to make a purchase of two or three niche perfumes, I want to see what offers I find, but I want them to be the best niche category .... Frederic Malle is one of the best I think .... 😊 😊 Greetings Aaron good review 👍🏻👍🏻
I liked this fragrance from the very beginning. After I had a full wear, I also bought a 50 ml bottle. Now I think I would like to get another 100 ml one, because it is the most special perfume in my entire collection. Moreover, my wife also likes this perfume. I have not yet met anyone (including those who are passionate about perfumery) who would say that it is not a special perfume. Therefore, it will remain a reference fragrance in my collection.
I have subscribed. Great reviews. Glad I watched this because I nearly bought a bottle. I agree that fragrances should for the most part be able to be worn most of the time not just special occasions. I love his voice. The day he comes on and says he’s not doing fantastic, we should all start to worry. I’m thinking human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together... MASS HYSTERIA!!!
I like THE MOON a lot. My wife may not be in the same page but I shall enjoy it again under the thoughtful appreciation of Aaron. “Unfortunately” it is a perfume not at all suitable for warm weather. Soon come the long Winters in Chicago.
Very interesting review Aaron! I personally really disliked this fragrance, it gave me a headache and was just too much for me… As you mentioned, it was quite hard to get it off my skin too. I think I‘m just not a big fan of raspberry in fragrances🤔
I had a similar experience. I have samples of Promise and The Moon and tbh I MUCH prefer Promise. Something about the raspberry bothers me. I would love a bottle of Promise though!
I haven't gotten my nose on this one, but I agree and disagree with some of what you said. Of course something shouldn't be completely unpalatable, but I do appreciate several frags that I only wear on special occasions. In a world where there are so many thousands of perfumes, it's nice to have a lot of mass appealing stuff, but artists/collectors that appreciate more eccentric tastes, I appreciate having some exquisite smelling frags that only work in certain situations. In short, I think I'm addicted to variety, hence why I have so many frags haha. Even with so many frags, I layer things often to yet again create new scents. Keep up the great reviews Aaron! 🤓❤
I really enjoy the moon, but I don't enjoy the the price and I'm not sure if I only wear it on special occasions because of the price or the way it stands out
Nice review as ever and very very informative. You simply are unique! I love it, your channel and even you very very much. Montale Pure Love. Reminds me of how I mix your Goddess and Arabica. I think Montale’s Pure Love is worth a review. I combine it with Dior J’Adore btw to elevate it to unexpected levels. Pure Love is amazing and the leather notes are somehow a little animalistic and oud-ish, but would be heavenly with a touch of rose and jasmin (hence me mixing it with J’Adore 😁)
He is absolutely right about the fragrance coming across as strange and wearer, probably due to the $$$$ they spent, then convincing themselves they like it haha
I own it and love it. I am not offended by the review, I kind of knew Aaron would not like it as it's not to his taste. Perfume is mostly subjective and objective on a technical level. Trust your nose, if you love it don't let others opinions sway you. Luca Turin for example trashes Amouage Reflection Man yet many adore it. That's the beauty of perfume, you find what you love and it should be individual. Remember trust your nose first ;) Peace :)
As with The Night this in impossible to judge right after spraying on. It takes 1 hour at least to develop. After that it is wonderful. You can really smell the hand of Dominic Ropion in it. It lasts up to 10 hours easily. When settled down it smell like the upperclass sister of Portrait of a Lady. Very few fragrances can stand up to this.
Wow. Interesting. I saw some frag maniacs raving about this but based on your description I wouldn’t like it. Such a relief because it’s too expensive 😄 Thank you!
It's the best smell I have ever smelled, I tried it and even though I don't have that kind of money to buy it, I had to swipe my credit card it was that good
Love your reviews mate! Great content. I had a general question - where can one usually find msds (material safety data sheets) for various fragrances?
Which of your rose/oud fragrances is good in heat/humidity? I really love rose specially turkish and bulgarian rose specially when you mix it with oud it becomes darker.

a question for you, Aaron: I told my partner yesterday that I believe it likely there is a good argument to be made that we gay men actually might perceive perfume differently than others. what do you think?
I think so and I also think that's what makes it challenging. The Night has lots of real oud according to Aaron and the opening of that is super challenging!
Histoires de parfums - edition rare Fidelis by the same perfumer done a year or 2 before the moon is said to be very similar. I have yet to try the moon but I really love Fidelis.
