Okay , I watched Inclan play in CT for many years. I know at one point he had a severe injury. Joey and Bolivar seemed to be a step above Inclan. My personal favorite front courters were Remen and Arriaga I. I used to scream when they dropped an easy one. Then I began playing Amateur Jai-Alai in Milford. I practiced and practiced. I could throw and catch. I never played a sport like jai-Alai, I never had so much fun. I gain the utmost respect for all these guys. They have my deepest admiration, love, and apologies for yelling at them. PS: At my best, I was horrible, If I was holding a cesta I couldn’t and wouldn’t be allowed to be in the same State as these amazing athletes! Bravo, must respect, salute, to all these men! Wish I knew then, what I know now about them and the game of Jai-Alai. Don’t patronize American casinos, they destroyed the sport of Jai-alai and could care less!
Sorry guys, but the sport was already failing before casinos. Here in Miami, Jai alai was the sport to watch in the "70-80's- then the Marlins came in, + the Heat, and then the lotto, and finally, casinos killed it for good. But maybe someday when they learn, Jai alai nation will return.
I had box 18..best seats in house every sat eve..my father tipped the guy. Box 18 maybe 3 to 4 years. Ondarru wouldnt drop anything...boli won in spain tournie with him. Churruca i didnt see....fronton in madrid never happened..thats why all those players left usa for a bit. Marcoida and lasa could be great at any given time. Goyo nah..egana..nah. how many fri ece sat matinee sat eve did u attend ?
@@scottrozzi1780 I saw Chimela pre accident in Bridgeport, best backcourter ever. The crowd would just go nuts when he would climb that wall, just incredible.
Your right Frank! I was announcing at Tampa Jai Alai when Boli was in his prime. Later called games in Hartford w/Boli and Joey. Both great! Boli- amazing athlete, Joey a cunning tactical player.
These guys are pretty old now but I will say Goiko has nothing on them. Inclan winning this "partido" was the beginning of the end of Boli. In his younger days, he would have made Goiko look like a fool, Speed, stamina, endurance and court awareness made him the favorite of his entire country plus the part of the U.S. that know jai-alai over the other 5 gozillion jai-alai players of his day. It is truly a shame that you don't really know the game.
Kevin Lynch So true that Boli was king especially when his competition would blow away the post 2000 players. You wouldn't be the Kevin on the '89 Melbourne/Daytona roster by chance?
Beginning of the end of boli....bolivar was done already. Inclan be ause of taking picking off the serve. Serving in doubles has no advantages..even anytime. Tennis serving is hugeeeed
John Sears Over rated? Never. How about that one year in Bridgeport he was absolutely unbeatable, against the best roster in history. Who’s your back court guy? I’ll go Chimela.
In this sport..serving in doubles isnt really an advantage...as you watch partido inclan tsking off the serve was the difference. Nolivars serve wasnt great
Inclan off the serve is very very tough. Taking goiko n lopez ia not fair argument. Its 2020..bolivar played 80s...people r bigger..roids...supplemneta
Um. Boli and Felix? How about Ondarres and maybe somone like Laca, Javier or even Angel in his prime? Anyone can say someone is better that anyone else, but Boli was the shit. Watch the video. He was probably 45-50 then. At 25-45, he ruled this world.
lol, Michelena was a machine, Bolivar would drop more balls in a partido than Michelena in the entire year. Power, speed and catching, Michelena above these two, easily.
Watched Bolivar school Michelena on a couple of occasions back in 85 and 86 in Palm Beach. After while he would play Michelena's serves on a hop out of boredom. No comparison. Heck I watched Arra school Michelena numerous times in Miami in the late 80s. To his credit Michelena could catch with anyone, but lacked the power and shot making ability of Bolivar.

TRUE.. CASINOS DESTROYED JAI ALAI BETTING & THE SPORT AS WELL

such great jai-alai from the best players

Two of the best front courter’s ever. Bolivar has to be the best all time, such an athlete, Inclan right with him though. Thank you for the upload.

Chimela had limp from car accident..churucca saved his life
Remen better singles player then boli..its close though. Zukaica boniguen would of won vs.boli in partido

@@scottsears5545 Zulaica although solid was a second tier player compared to Bolivar. Bonoquen? Meh, when he was on.
EXCELSO INCLAN!

Gracias, con gusto te esperamos con los brazos abiertos
TREMEDO PARTIDO PERO INCLAN QUE FORMA DE DOMINAR EL COSTADO
Ahh the glory days of Jai-alai.
Watched boli when he played in tampa in his prime he was the best joey was close behind 2 of the greatest pickers to ever strap on a cesta
I watched bolivar Bridgeport 80 to 83

those that think Goiko is great, must have never seen Michelena. Goiko drops more balls in one week than Michelena dropped in one year.
Kevin Lynch
So true that Boli was king especially when his competition would blow away the post 2000 players.

Why yes I am.
I always thought urquiaga was one of the best players.

these guy's are old , they were playing 40 years ago. Goiko has talent sure , but let him age another 20 years...
THEY EXECUTE GRACEFULLY RIGHT HAND RETURNS NIT LIKE PLAYERS NOW WHO TAKE MORE THAN ONE STEP TO GET MOMENTUM
Wow!
Inclan would of taken the serve off anybody...including goiko
Bolivar could of used a better partner. Otherwise, classic Jai Alai.
Bolivar was slightly over rated...i watched him at bridgeport sat nights 3 years. Best seats in house table 18 upfront

I'll take Michelena and Daniel over anybody you want to pick.

Bolivar up front, then everybody else. To be fair Ondarres & Egurbi were close. Back court Chimela & Churucca... Also "the shit" Good post mrwp.

goiko and lopez, bolivar and soroa, joey and lopez any of these teams could beat mich and daniel. dont get me wrong mich was a beast
Goichochea from Miami was much better than 2 these guys,
and was unbeatable at singles, not even close.
I'll take Goiko and Lopez over ANY of these teams!
Different Era...I'd take zulaica boniguen
