    I'm not gonna lie, I recently fell into the touhou rabbit hole and man its ost is really good so I felt inspired to make a original song of my own inspired by touhou. This project took weeks to complete and is by far one of my most largest projects yet. Even now I'm still unsure whether this sounds 100% like touhou but I hope you'll enjoy it regardless.

    Reminded me to Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke
    Love it, sounds more like an Extra Stage Boss theme, they always have that chaotic or emotional feeling, rather than focusing on the "epicness" of a Final Boss (Suwa Foughten Field, Lunatic Princess)

    This video is _fantastic._ As someone who doesn't know how to make music, it feels crazy insightful, a tiny glimpse of what it takes to make a track such as this one. The music is beautiful, too. I really think you should upload it separately as well, if you haven't already. 10/10 great work. Not a Touhou fan (yet) so I can't say whether it sounds accurate or not, but it feels like it'd be appropriate in a bullet hell boss fight. Awesome work, all around.

    Wow, really love the pseudo-tutorial at the start! Also 1:08.5 - 1:09 reminds me a lot of Beethoven Virus for some reason. Also love the Mokou inspired part! I can't believe you only have 70 subs even a year after this masterpiece.

    hey WISE GUY! i think you're real WISE and STRONG so i'm gonna start INTERROGATING YOU!
    1. some instruments in the song don't always follow the main chord progression. why is that, and what are they doing instead? what does not following the chord progression do?
    2. i hear a lot about building and releasing tension in music. what's that about?
    3. 3:08 sounds yucky! why'd you do that? should i start taking notes?
    4. how'd you learn to do all this? what is the process of improving?

    • @breadmaster3843
      @breadmaster3843  Год назад +1

      1. I'm presuming what you meant by this was writing a melody with only the notes played by the chords in the main chord progression, while yes its true that writing melodies following the chords would sound nice, it restricts variety and creativity so i tend to avoid doing it all the time but then again its just a matter of preference. What the melody is doing is essentially sticking inside of a scale (most of the time) and i make sure that it fits with the chords of the song so it does not sound dissonant.
      2. In music theory, there are certain chords with certain functions depending on the key. An example would be in the major scale, the V chord generally has a very strong and tense feeling of wanting to resolve back to the I chord (thereby releasing the tension). Such as in the key of C major, the V chord would be G major which gives the listener a strong feeling of wanting to go from the V to the I (which is C major). So the V chord is the tension and the I chord is the release.
      3. I agree that "yucky" note might put some people off but that was just a note which i borrowed from the parallel blues scale. I added it for some "spice" in the song even though the note does not belong to the original scale. But again its just a matter of preference.
      4. Well there is no magical method which can make you improve really fast other than to just keep making music and to keep experimenting.
      I hope this response helped answer all your questions
