Ok but hear me out... a vampirified ogre pirate who focuses all his unique personal skills on buffing and improving bloated corpses, maybe give him a unique ROR armored bloated corpse friend that causes a shrapnel burst on death... going all-in on bloated corpse bonus effects, like Throt's laboratory, but ONLY affecting bloated corpses, maybe eventually unlock an effect where your bloated corpses spawn zombie gnoblars when they die or something silly like that (but which would give your armies a bit of staying power after they exploded haha)... I unironically think a bloated corpse LL/faction could be extremely fun to play with

Vcoast is so fun. WHY IS THEIR ECO SO LAUGHABLY BAD. I get that the ship builders are really really strong. but once those are up it takes like 15 settlements to support every extra army. Not even an exaggeration.

War economy mate, use raiding - looting - treasure - loot pile rite, ect to fund you and don't worry about a negative income. Takes a little getting used to but makes sense pirates don't establish sustainable economy. Heck send a captain out to make coves in the super profitable capital / landmark cities across the globe and try to leave those factions alone to make bank off em.

Play Aranessa for "good" economy, after level 12 or so she makes it so that you get 7k gold from each sea treasure so you can just have a couple of lords sailing around picking up money for you. Other than that never occupy anything but ports as they're the only things that give you money.

I'm thinking bloated corpses would synergise really well with chariots and cavalry because cavalry is good at picking off isolated units while bloats can nuke the blobs
sadly I'm pretty sure vampirates have no chariots and basically no cavalry
