  • BEFORE ‘PARO-PARO G’, THERE WAS ‘PARU-PARONG BUKID’ ǀ In times when ‘Paro-Paro G’ has become a phenomenon, we chose to produce ‘Paruparong Bukid’ dance performance to remind the Filipinos of our rich cultural heritage we should never be ashamed of. ‘Paruparong Bukid’ (The Field Butterfly) is a humorous song comparing a butterfly to a Filipina garbed in her glamourous formal dress with tall butterfly sleeves as she moves down the aisle of the church, swaying her hips as everyone looks on. Female members of MCJ’s Dancing PDL may not have their butterfly sleeves dresses for this production, but are delighted to have executed the dance steps and kept the traditional culture alive!
Catch 6pm tonight the premiere of the ‘Paru-parong Bukid’ performance of MCJ’s Dancing PDL (with the special participation of JO1 Aloha R Compo), the first of the series of productions we have prepared in commemoration of the month-long celebration of the BJMP’s Community Relations Services this June! #11thCRSMonth #CRSMonth2022
