I'm going to rant but I find these comments SO DISGUSTING. Especially the ones saying Seungjae is no longer cute. As though it's his job to be perfect and cute for the viewers. What is wrong with people? Expecting a toddler who hasn't even reached his third birthday yet to be perfect?
Then the rest of the people saying he should be disciplined and what is wrong with his dad? There's nothing wrong. Other 2/3 years olds are throwing tempter tantrums, fighting, hitting other kids, calling people names, breaking things all over the house. What does Seungjae do? Imitate his dad on his laptop, answer the phone and ask a lady for ice cream, then find a USB shaped like a fish, which he puts into a fish tank to try to save .
Yet people are acting like he went crazy and drew all over on the walls, slapped another child or some shit. Damn.
People saying he should be punished or even beat (WTF) and saying Jiyong is wrong, maybe take him as an example of what a parent SHOULD do: not overreact to every situation that goes wrong and get so consumed by anger you scream or hit a child over a small moment of misbehavior. Be calm like Jiyong and explain why things are wrong in a way that the child understands. Maybe your 2 year old (if you have one, or if you want to have kids) will turn out as well as Seungjae: a 2/3 year old who talks and behaves as well as a 7 year old with a very nice, kind heart (as displayed by EVERY OTHER EPISODE he's been in), who's worst moment on camera is to try to save a USB shaped like a fish from dying.
I wish my future kids will turn out so well.

Finally someone said exactly what I wanted to say. Even adults make mistakes not to say a 2-3 year old kid who is still learning - these people expect him to be a perfect angel ALL the time and when he did not meet their expectation he is labeled a brat. I like the way Jiyong explain to him in the way he would understand- what if someone destroys the puzzle you are playing with. We are only seeing a few min of what happened, much of what happened would not have been filmed or be edited out.

these people commenting how undisciplined seungjae is and how they blame jiyong lmao. yall, he's a 3 year old kid growing up. he still has lots to learn. he might be smart and creative for his age but you really expect him to act like a goddamn adult just because he talks clearly?? second, jiyong disciplined seungjae in a calm manner. not every disciplinary action from parents must be in a form of mad scolding. jiyong did the right approach. if you think every asian parents discipline their children by scolding them greatly then you're wrong. every family is different from one another. also, think about the psychological effect seungjae might get if jiyong always shows he's disappointed in seungjae for being mischievous. give him a chance to learn.

I agree! Also, the fact that Seungjae was upset that Jiyong scolded him was enough to say that it caused a psychological effect on him. I think Jiyong's approach in telling Seungjae that what he did was wrong was full of patience and since he's just like 3 y/o, he's being careful with his words so that it doesn't take a toll on Seungjae's emotional health. He's still so young, he's still experiencing different sides of his parent's personalities! We can only see what they show us but I think we can all agree on the fact that he's genuinely sociable, well-mannered and a smart child.

There's a lot of sides to having children - It can't all be rainbows and butterflies. If you've never been disciplined or shown the consequences of your actions when growing up, you might end up like Donald Trump lol.

Well, if they were to be disciplined emotionally or physically or punished that's the parents decision to make and as much as Seungjae is a sweet child and love him so, it is a must to teach children discipline even from a young age but since people raise their child differently i don't think we have the right to interfere 😅but it's a possibility to give them advice or reminders on how to raise their child nicely :)

I hope to be as patient and communicative as JiYong in the future when I'm a parent. I really admire his calmness and ability to smile at any situation.

It is definitely not the lack of discipline. I think that the father is doing a very good job in terms of disciplining seungjae, just that he has to focus a lot on his work and he isn't very good at multitasking to meet seungjae's needs. Maybe he can get seungjae's mum(?) to babysit and take turns doing that. As seen from the video, seungjae merely wanted attention from his dad and play and have fun together, so it should be understandable for him to try to get what he wants : to have fun!! He is still a kid after all..
This show is only for dads. That's why every time they film this show, the moms are not there. But sometimes the moms do show up mostly if they hv special occasion, or before they left home for the dads to film this show
sungjaes mom babysits him 5 days in a week. thats why he is closer with his mom than his dad. Sunjaes father did this show to get closer to his son by babysitting him 2 days in a week (bcoz bfore, sungjaes mom babysits him almost everyday..)

Everyone's talking about how Seungjae's behaviour is bad etc but he is a KID still and he's curious and mischievous. the USB is fish-shaped and we all know how much he loves animals, it's really no surprise. Instead of focusing on that, can I just say the part where Seungjae was laughing at jiyong / them horsing around made my heart melt? Really really cute father and son bonding, made me sooo happy!! Hopefully seungjae grows up and drinks well with his appa :)
why does no one understand that jiyong knows he couldve scolded worse... hes done it before with smaller stuff... but hes learning and knows that seungjae really smart for his age and is able to understand whats wrong with just simply telling him instead of giving him a punishment. the words obviously affected seungjae enough if he ended up crying. im really proud of jiyong for being able to joke around after a scolding since he always felt awkward and didnt want to scold him ever bc he thought seungjae wouldve ended up hating him. 😊

exo kty so true! my son is an only child too and gets bored/lonely when I'm too busy with work. So he does things to get my attention as well. I usually tell him five more minutes and I will play with him outside. for the most part he waits patiently! just talking to your kid and explaining to him about how things work will work wonders!

All these comments I see saying Jiyong isn't good in disciplining Seungjae seems like you've been a real good parent yourself (as if you all raised a child already. You peeps even felt like still needs parental guidance too, teenagers, /smirk). Jiyong is doing the best he can raising up an intelligent, creative and hyper Seungjae. I admire Jiyong for having as much patience as he does. He deserves so much recognition for explaining things to Sungjae instead of scolding him. Not talking down to kids makes them more responsible. They understand that what they did was wrong instead of just fearing how their parents would react.

Because Seungjae is so advanced in his language you forget how young he is. His only three so his behaviour makes a lot of sense. I was impressed at how patient his dad remained. That’s really good parenting not losing control of your emotions.

"Let's be real" Age is an excuse! With age comes knowledge and wisdom. Seungjae is still fucking *2* turning 3 in a couple of months. His innocence and naivety brought him to truly believe it was a dead fish, I mean look at him running happily to the fish tank thinking he'll save it. Jiyong disciplined Seungjae to not do it again, why should he harshly reprimand him for something he honestly didn't know, he looked so regretful when he realised it was mistake. Seungjae is a smart kid and you could tell he knew did something wrong by fidgeting around. That might be one of the reason why Seungjae is smart because jiyong disciplines with situations relative to him. So ya'll bitches thinking you can do better with your hypothetical disciplinary theories...try raising a kid and see how well you can.

For all the rude comments, he's still just a young kid. He's a cute kid no matter what he do. He's not supposed to be this little smart perfect kid, he's still extremely young. All young kids no matter how perfect or well disciplined they are will have their moments where they might be a little bad.

It's so cute that he couldn't even stop himself from laughing at the thought of his prank on his dad, even before actually doing it. It's like someone laughing at a funny story before they even finished telling it.
I actually found it awesome how his dad reacted to the situation.. Instead of getting mad, he tried to fix the problem first and then he talked with seung jae that he should not do it again. Besides, seung jae only threw the USB stick into the water because he likes animals and was unaware that the stick is not resistant to water. Furthermore, seung jae said very honestly that he was not in a good mood because his dad had scolded him before.

Looking back the old videos, I can see how happy Seungjae is that his father is finally spending time with him. As his father is always busy. 😢 glad Jiyong decided to go for this show.
I love how this dad is parenting his child, he corrects his kid's wrong doings without scaring him, that's why Seungjae doesn't lie or hide anything from his dad, to me this is perfect parenting! He is patient and understanding of his kid... Seungjae has a bubbly personality no doubt he is just like his dad! What a beautiful family

Just from the looks of his eyes i can tell that seungjae is so innocence, and when his appa told him not to do that he actually understand it ☺ so why some people bully this cute kid

dont get mad on seungjae's innocence. he did tell jiyong that the he saved the dead fish, so seungjae being an animal lover he didnt actually know what the usb is for. i salute jiyong for remaining calm explaining seungjae things he souldnt do. cmon guys, dont question parent's disciplinary methods when we only see portions of their lives.

I have never seen these before, and now I'm watching from the beginning. I just love this. That little Seungjae is adorable, and his dad is a trooper. You can count on those little ones to innocently tell all your business!! LOL
this clip (especially the second half) is probably my favorite clip of the whole show, all kids included. Sungjae is so innocent (with a mischievous tendency still XD) and his father's reaction is really good... I just love the whole thing, it's so funny and endearing. It's some great father-son memories to share, of just every day life. Much love :3
