Almost every episode the items are always the same. And they also need to collect so many newspapers too. Or buy them!
At our stores you're supposed to give them the coupons before they even start scanning. I remember so clearly this one time the lady in front of me tried to turn her coupons at the end, and the stucked up cashier said, "u were supposed to give me those at the beginning, I can't do it anymore". I would have left everything there and shopped again, gotten in line again, and given her the coupons AT THE BEGINNING. That's what she asked for, right???
It's not up to them when you give them your coupons, unless the store policy says otherwise.
And why you have to give them the coupons at first? I mean what happend when you give them a coupon and you forgot to take the item?
I thought the store cashier asks ‘do you have any coupons?’ when declaring the bill... maybe I’ve been watching too much Extreme Couponing but this seems more logical

I can mix manufacturers coupons with store sales but that's as far as I've been able to take it myself. Getting to 50% is pretty easy actually, as long as you're flexible. But at a certain point, if you're cheap enough, you just don't need to save any more. Like, do I really need the extra 80 cents from 40% of 4 cans of coup? Probably not.
All these gimmics seem to be happening a lot at the Piggy Wigglys in the south. You'd never get away with this at stores in the Chicago area.
Definitely not finding that in California. Also use Ibotta to get at least something back. Groupon does this too with restaurants! You have to look them up though
Because of many extreme couponing stores had stop this a long time ago. I was once a extreme couponer because of my ex husband making me and my kids force to not even have been able to eat, so I had to rethink and strategize what we needed, after some time that we was ok I ended up doing it to help local pantries for the elderly and for homeless shelters and churches that fed people. Now we are lucky if we can use a coupon with a limit of three of the same product ur buying.
@@queenjenna2696 That’s so horrible that your husband was doing that to you and your kids, he sounds like a real monster. How are you and your kids doing now? You’re right about the way the stores have done things with coupons, the only place where they’re really worth using is Dollar Tree where pretty much every item you have a coupon for you can get for free or close to free.

Why Don’t They have Coupons on Fresh meat or Fresh Produce ?
You use your rebate apps and overage from other items to pay for those.
They used to have coupons on meat and produce but with so many using coupons now they stopped that.
I got coupons for 2.00 off on red meat from a beer company many years ago and no beer purchase required. I took a handful and stocked up on meat when it went on sale. We had a freezer full of steaks that went on sale I paid about 1.50 to 2.50 for each steak.
@@jennifertaylor9232 that way a great deal. I always wanted to learn couponing but each coupon I seen it said for one item can't duplicate coupons together so I didn't try. I need to though i spend easily over $400.00 a week at stores and I don't even know how. My husband gwt mad at me but when he goes he spends over a hundred as well and that isn't even bringing the kids or shopping for most things needed.
Things have gotten more expensive now so I could see spending at least 200.00 or more when you have kids. The best way is to plan easy meals that don’t cost much money and shop the sales even if it means two stores only have list for the sale items at each store and it it’s a item you need that is not on sale get it at cheapest place. You can’t use two coupons on one product that’s true unless it is a manufacturer coupon and a store coupon. Then you can use both on one product unless it says no in store coupon policy. And each store is different. I am currently teaching my mom to shop with coupons she did a deal the other day using a store coupon and manufacturer her item was free except for tax. She was so happy she only paid tax.
Some stores will allow you to use coupons on clearance items but some no longer do that. Target won’t allow coupons on clearance items any longer. When you buy items you must use the coupon for that item not another item or it is considered coupon fraud and no photo coppying the coupons. One woman used coupons on a solid deodorant that she was supposed to use only on the spray not the solid and then had the nerve to post it as if it was OK. I called her out as well as others telling her that it is fraud and a crime if she gets caught she could be arrested. Maybe not on such a small amount but you never know. The problem I have is she didn’t care what she did was wrong not even posting an apology. She apparently keeps repeating the actions. It affects all of us as them Manufacturer’s stop giving us good coupons or stop them in certain areas where the coupons are being abused.

I'm 51..& gave been a huge couponer for many many yrs. In my house, dinners always revolved on whatever was on sale. Electronic & printable coupons were a game changer! lol. Now my adult kids show their friends my receipts..and how they show nothing less than 85% savings.. and it blows everyones mind lol

You can still save a lot of money. Pay attention to ads (look at all the stores close to home). I don't shop several stores at all for various reasons, but I do look at all the other ads. I look for stock up prices for me (it will vary from person to person). If I can get boxed pasta for $0.49 a box & there's a limit of 8 I buy 8 that's around $4.00 for 8 boxes. I've bought cereal at Walgreens really cheap. A couple of months ago I got 3 boxes for less than $3.00 because they were on sale & I had a coupon for $1.00 off 3 boxes of that brand. I've also bought the 42 ounce containers of oatmeal on sale for 2 for $6.00 (they're over $4.00 at the supermarket here) & if I have a coupon it's usually $1.00 off 2. I buy V8 juice 2 for $5.00 there also (it's around $4.00 here at the supermarket). It's just getting to know prices & paying attention to sales. I look at the ads like I said then I look for matching coupons. It doesn't take as long as people think it does.

And the online coupons are most likely store coupons so it's ok to stack them otherwise the machine will automatically reject it.

Couponing in Canada just gets worse and worse. I barely use them anymore. Besides the lack of decent coupons, stores put so many rules in place: Limit 1 price coupon when price matching (so if you price match 3 of the same item, you can only use a coupon on one); One per purchase is one per the entire transaction (and you can't argue with them because it's the company policy). So ridiculous. I'm no crazy couponer, but give me a break.
i would write corporate - some coupons have on them "one per purchase. 4 per transaction" ask them why that is - hopefully they can realize how wrong they are!!!

That just means one coupon per item like you have one for tooth paste then you can only use that coupon on one box. That doesn't mean you can not use any other coupon in one shopping trip. Also before i confuse anyone say if you have 4 coupons for 4 boxes of tooth paste you can use those in one transaction you just have to follow the guide lines on that coupon.
KatieBelle K No. One coupon per purchase means per item. One coupon per transaction means your entire transaction. You could technically get around that by dividing up your transactions, but it's more hassle. On the other hand, here in Canada, one chain of stores decided to make it store-wide policy that one per purchase means the entire transaction, not each item. Needless to say, I stopped shopping at any of the if stores and sent a complaint letter to their head office.

I agree with Matilda. I am on a plant based diet and there are very few coupons for fresh food and meatless products. The foods in this cart are full of sugar and sodium.

This wouldnt work in the uk as most stores dont have coupons only one that does is farm foods and u can only use one coupon and u have to spend over 25 or over 100 pounds.

Where can I get a lot of those coupons?? What websites are good and also what stores are the best to use them at in my town we have Walmart which doesn't really do sales. We are getting a publix and have a food world but that's about it!! Kroger is over 30 miles away do what should I do??

rochelle123ist Canned milk and veggies are Not junk food and ok, boxed mixes may not be "pure" but I don't call potatoes "junk food" either.
Chili is a perfectly fine meal and serving it over whole wheat pasta helps balance it out...etc., etc. I even paused the vid several times to get a better look at what was in the cart and couldn't tell what was there, so you can't say " It's all junk."!

Why buy 4 boxes of instant mash potatoes when you can buy one bag of potatoes which would have cost less, and you can make fresh chilli dish instead of using the canned processed version which works out to be cheaper and healthier because freshly made chilli dishes will have less salt and sugar than the canned version.
They only want people to eat healthy in moderation.

I believe the electronic coupons were store coupons & you can stack store coupons with manufacturer coupons. & I think stores only let you double manufacturer coupons..

Remember this video was made in 2010 - you can't combine digital coupons and paper coupons together unless one is store and one is manufacturer. Also, remember coupon limits at your stores. You can still save a lot!!!

All good in well but coupon mom that time brought the coupons for her and people that coupon do buy junk if you don't look at the label's back of boxes those boxed potato's have a ton of salt. And the major coupon womanand men end up wasting products by stock piling. Stuff does go bad!

This is great! I wish she'd come up to Maine and help me! I'm always spending over $200 a week on groceries, AND using coupons, AND I still feel like there's never any food in the house! Those little sound effects that they're using in this video are REALLY loud though. It makes it hard to watch.

yeah no, here in Europe you cant do this anymore combining. Unless like she said the offer is 10 items for 5$ off at the checkout, then and if you have 1 coupon you might get 5.50$ but where I live it is mostly one coupon per one purchase. But I am intereted I'm going to check it out a bit more, you never know, there could be some good deals to be had.

I've managed to save 54 dollars this month on grocery off of an~ 150 grocery before coupon. I'd like to cut that down more. It's a lot for just one person.
A lot of the food items in the cart are all processed package stuff no fresh veggies or fruit or even meat. Why buy boxed potatoes (I believe instant mash) when you can buy a fresh bag of potatoes. There is nothing in that cart where you can make at least one meal from.
The point is to save money on the processed stuff you use anyways to be able to afford fresher food. This trip was more for shock value and to show how much you can save. But when you save on toiletries or canned foods, you open up more room in your budget for fresh food

Spending a ton of time clipping paper, studying shit in and out of the store, and being in an annoying ass grocery store for way longer than necessary.... I don't care if they paid you 11 dollars that shit is not worth the time. And on top of all that you got a bunch of garbage. Cut out the snacks? Then buy 8 boxes of Cheez-Its. Genius.

Besides coupons she would save time bringing in groceries if she had reusable shopping bags instead of having too haul 20 plastic bags in the house I bring 4 large insulated bags with me and one trip bringing in my groceries so much easier!

This only works when there is a camera crew filming. Items that are already discounted arn't allowed to use coupons. Coupons work for full price and normally its its 50 cents off per 2 dollars. There are also limits to the coupons per items per trip. The real skinny is you have to shop for the stores discounted items but you are still going to spend at least a couple of dollars. Kroger has things like buy 2 for 5 dollars or buy 1 for 3.50. But as I said, stick a camera in the register and managers have to over write the coupon and allow it to pass through. To bad the real world didn't work the way they show it here. Know that these results are not typical. So what have we learned? You cannot use a coupon on already discounted prices. Coupons are limited per trip and per item. There is no such thing as Free or no such thing as the store owing you money back.
